WHAT’S TRENDING: COURAGE STANDS UP!

Bible Reading: Esther 4:9–16 

Every now and again, we come across something online that stirs us to action. Maybe we read a status  that makes us want to reach out to someone, or an email that invites a response. It could even be a story  we read somewhere. Regardless of the source, we find out about something, and we want to help, encourage, or stand up for someone else. But we don’t. We allow fear to stand in the way. God did not call us to  live fearful lives. No one would ever accomplish anything if they allowed fear to rule. It’s time to replace  fear with courage and do the things we feel called to do. 

Reflection: If you had limitless courage, what would you do? Jot down ten things you’ve been afraid to  do. Afterwards, take some time to pray and present that list to the Lord.  

Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, sometimes I simply don’t have the courage to do the things I know I  should. At times, I’m afraid of being ridiculed. There are even moments when I’m afraid I will lose my  friends. Help me to see that the most important relationship in my life is my relationship with You, and  to replace fear with courage. In Jesus’ name, amen.
