Beginning in May, children will start a 6 month walk through the Bible with The Greatest Story Ever Told. Children will be introduced to the God of the Bible and will see that the Bible is one big story about God rescuing His people. Bible truths will be covered where children will walk through familiar and sometimes less-familiar stories and see the overarching theme of God in relationship with His people. The lessons will show Jesus as the Promised One who came to save His people from sin and death. These lessons will help children see the greatness of God and the way He works all things according to His plan. 

The Greatest Story Ever Told: Part 1 Old Testament

The beginning lessons will cover stories of the creation, the fall of man in the garden of Eden, on through Noah and the destruction of the world. Subsequent lessons will continue on with the story of God’s redemption from Abraham, Issac, Jacob & Joseph through the Exodus with God introducing Himself to Moses at the burning bush. Children will learn what it was like for God’s people in the Old Testament from the time they entered the promised land, through their many years in the promised land, to Mary announcing Jesus’ arrival. Children will see how God’s people had highs and lows as they sometimes obeyed, but more often forgot about God and turned their back on Him. Children will see the faithfulness of God despite the unfaithfulness of God’s people, but will be reminded that through it all there were those hopefully waiting for the Messiah.
