I want to show/hide the bookmark toolbar in Firefox. The only way to do this at the moment is via Alt + V + T + B. Now, that's a lot of buttons to press for something I'd like to do all the time. Is there a way to automate this process by using any sane combination (two buttons)?

When I open my browser, I can readily see (visible) the 'Bookmarks Toolbar' as usual, below the URL box. However -- once I'm connected to (any) website, the bookmarks toolbar 'disappears' (becomes no longer visible).

When I open a new 'tab' the Bookmarks Toolbar becomes visible for that tab, and only until that tab is connected to a website. Once that 'new' tab is again connected to a website, the bookmarks toolbar disappears once again.

One possible reason is that the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" was removed from the bar or moved to another toolbar. You can use the Customize mode to look for it and drag it back ( -firefox-controls-buttons-and-toolbars). If it's not visible anywhere, use the "Restore Defaults" button at the bottom of the Customize panel to reset the toolbar layout.

The Norton icon has disappeared from my Firefox toolbar so I need to open Norton 360 to access passwords for those sites that Norton doesn't fill automatically. I've disabled the Norton password and Norton safe search extensions, closed Firefox and reenabled the extensions. No icon. I've completely removed the two extensions, closed Firefox, rebooted and then used Norton 360 to reinstall the extensions. No icon. I really could use your help and suggestions since Norton never fills in my camera and home automation logins. I'm using windows 11.

I am working on a Firefox extension in which I have made various changes in browser.xul to customize Firefox's UI. By default Firefox has its menu-bar disabled/invisible. I want it to always display menu-bar toolbar.FYI, I have disabled right-click on toolbar which usually shows a context menu where-in one can make menu-bar visible or gone.

The solution for me was to go to about:config and change the value browser.chrome.toolbar_style (which was "2") to "1". After restarting firefox all tools are visible again. Changing it back to "2" and restarting firefox still shows all tools .. odd behaviour.

This discussion is somewhere in these threads, but I want to start from scratch. I'm having trouble with my 1PW program icon not showing up in the Toolbar. The extension shows up in the Menu Bar, but not in the Toolbar. I'm enclosing screenshots of my add-ons in Firefox and of my toolbar. There is absolutely no way I can find to get the 1PW program icon to show up in the Toolbar. Please help.

Can you please try the steps outlined here and see if you can get 1Password back into your Firefox's toolbar: -browser-button/

Also, please disable/remove the extension you're not using, you should not have both 1Password extensions installed and enabled simultaneously like you show in your screenshot.

I have checked the addons site and found things like Gmail notifier

but am hesitant to use it (and others) given that the reviews usually

include those from people who have had issues with these like

compromising their mail accounts. Are these concerns justified? Is there a way to get the equivalent to the Google toolbar Gmail icon

into the list of choices offered when customizing the Firefox toolbar?

I would love to just drag the Gmail icon from my Google toolbar onto

the Firefox Toolbar but it does not allow that. Thanks in advance.

You could add a bookmark to your bookmarks toolbar if you use it such as:Though personally I don't use that toobar for the same reason I don't useĀ

any toolbars, they waste too much space (and others also may be spyware). IfĀ

you're really concerned about security, I'd consider sending and collectingĀ

mail from Gmail via a pop3 client such as Outlook or Outlook Express.Ā

This is good, I hate toolbars, they just waste window space, but these iconsĀ

can be added to the top exiting toolbar (bookmarks toobar is off!) andĀ

where there's still quite a bit of empty space> Also using littlefox toĀ

maximize window area and icons off!Ā

How did you do that? I right clicked on the Gmail logo while

displaying my inbox and tried dragging it to the toolbar. I got the

longest context menu I've ever seen with tons of choices. I picked

"Copy link to this location" but nothing resulted. Any tips?

This is good, I just added this and got the Gmail icon I wanted on the

toolbar and it works great. I also found that the Google toolbar has

an option to replace the Firefox search box with its own and hide the

rest of the Google toolbar items, so now I have the half-dozen icons I

want on the Firefox toolbar, plus the address box, plus the Google

search box, and that's it, all on one line. When I run without tabs I

get maximum screen space. Beautiful!

For details, see the announcement. There will be no further updates or security fixes to Google Toolbar for Firefox. For this reason we strongly recommend discontinuing the use of the toolbar. Also see our Help Center for suggestions on add-ons and built-in browser features that provide functionality similar to the toolbar.

Update. Good info. I deleted the bookmarks from Brave, all of them. Clean slate. Blank bookmark toolbar, then imported from firefox and Brave perfectly imported them and placed them properly into the bookmark toolbar. I think the source of the problem I had importing the bookmarks was that I had bookmarks already in the toolbar, so Brave put all imported bookmarks into a folder ON the toolbar. Pretty smart default for times then a toolbar has pre-existing bookmarks.

If you have Trend Micro Security installed, it includes a downloadable toolbar to add on the Mozilla Firefox toolbar that provides additional security when you do online searches and browsing.

Shortly before I upgraded to Firefox 28.0 I noticed that my Web Clipper icon was no longer in my toolbar. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the add-on and it still has not appeared. I then installed for the first time Evernote Clearly and the Clearly icon appears in the toolbar. Are there any known issues between 27 and 28 with Web Clipper?

I've shot myself in the foot! My Evernote buttonn was on my toolbar until (just before I uninstalled the add-on and installed the desktop client?. Now, after installing that desktop client program...and re-installing the add-on (hoping to get the button back), I simply have no button. Am 70 and have trouble with computerese. Any suggestions? I'd like to use the clipping function. Thanks.

Troubleshooting tips:

1) If the toolbar button disappears try the following steps:

a) In Firefox menu go to: View > Toolbars > Customize

Ā Locate the Evernote button and drag into desired position in toolbar.

After the upgrade to Firefox 38 the web clipper tool bar icon has disappered. As recommened, I tried from the customise menu but there is no icon visible for web clipper which can be dragged to the toolbar. Am I missing something ? The list of addons show that the web clipper is installed.

I am having the same issue as SGSubra. I am running Firefox 38 and no longer have the web clipper in the toolbar. It is not showing in the customize menu either, but it is showing in the list of addons.

This is a new rocky install as of probably a week ago. Today I ran software updates and one of them was a firefox update. I had set up my bookmarks and extensions already. After the update I had to toggle the extensions off / on for any of them to work again, and my bookmarks bar is now blank. The bookmarks still exist, but they are not showing in the toolbar at all.

Does anyone have an idea or suggestions about how I can declaratively specify that I want to pin the installed extension to the Firefox toolbar and ideally specify the sequence of how the installed extensions are to be displayed when pinned to the toolbar?

Acrobat Create PDF extension is used to convert web pages to pdf. Enabling this extension adds the Acrobat PDF Creation toolbar and the right-click context menu to convert complete web pages, links to PDF.

First, make sure 1Password is turned on in Chrome. Click the Chrome menuĀ  in the toolbar and choose Extensions > Manage Extensions. Then click to turn on 1Password.

First, make sure 1Password is turned on in Firefox. Click the Firefox menuin the toolbar and choose Add-ons and themes. Click Extensions in the sidebar, then turn on 1Password.

First, make sure 1Password is turned on in Edge. Click the Edge menuin the toolbar and choose Extensions, then click Manage Extensions. Then click to turn on 1Password.

If you try to undo the changes done to your text with Ctrl + Z, this will not work. Instead the last change done before using the toolbar button will be undone, leaving the changes from the toolbar buttons in place. Unquoting, unstyling, unpreformat a paragraph can be very cumbersome.

I think the current, unwanted bahaviour, is caused by the direct setting of value in the toolbar actions code: -editor.js.es6#L502 Only Firefox likes it this way, all other browsers seem to like document.execCommand('insertText', ...) better.

The most common way of losing bookmarks within Firefox is when the bookmarks toolbar is gone. Usually this means the bookmarks toolbar was accidentally turned off. To turn it back on, click Views > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar > Always show. 0852c4b9a8
