Gateway Ion Channel Symposium

July 8-10, 2025

Chicago IL, Northwestern University

Empowering the next generation of scientists

Join us for the 2nd Gateway Ion Channel Symposium

The 2nd Gateway Ion Channel Symposium will be held July 8-10, 2025 in Chicago. The inaugural symposium held last year at the Van Andel Institute was highly successful, and starting in 2025 this symposium will be held every other year.

The symposium is designed to highlight the latest breakthroughs in ion channel research across fields and serve as a catalyst for collaboration between scientists at all career stages.

The program will feature talks from a diverse group of speakers including trainees, a poster session, and ample time for discussion and networking. The symposium also offers an opportunity for emerging scientists to seek career advice and mentorship.

Tentative Schedule: Events will kick off Tuesday July 8th with a registration & a welcome reception. July 9th & 10th will include two full days of programing and meals (continental breakfast, lunch, and refreshments throughout the day). A group dinner will take place on campus Wednesday, July 9th.
