Welcome Closers, this is our world!
We are an Alternative Metal band, forged in 2018.
Through our guardian, the Gatecloser, we tell stories trying to explore the boundaries beyond the human soul.
The project started in 2018 from the union of four guys with a strong passion for music. Initially, there wasn't a defined goal other than having fun, but within a few months it became clear to us: bring our style, our music, our passion and our stories to an always wider audience.
80's Heavy Metal, Punk, Nu Metal and Hard Rock had a strong influence on our music.
We recorded two albums: From The Wasteland and The Fall of God, for a total of 23 tracks.
We remained nameless until our first live, after which we started brainstorming words that would work well together.
At the time, our concept wasn't yet perfectly clear in our minds, but we already knew what our direction was, and in fact, only during the writing of the third song of From The Wasteland we realized that they were all telling the same story.
It's as if the Gatecloser had always been inside of us. The idea of a guardian always waiting behind you seemed like the perfect starting point to shape our art.
An elderly local gentleman who opens and closes the gates of a public park in our city every day, gave us the idea of combining the words gate and closer, to create the name of our band (and also the name of the entity).
Soon after that, we realized that this figure we had just created was the perfect personification of Time.
Consisting of 11 tracks, it is the result of two years of work. The album has been composed, arranged and produced by us.
As our first album, we were inspired by the great classics of 80s metal, such as Metallica and Iron Maiden (many rhythmic figures return during listening), without, however, disdaining the structure and melody typical of 90s metal and the 2000s, given by the interaction between voice and lead guitar audible especially in the choruses.
As for the texts, which are mostly impersonal and rarely specify the names of the protagonists, the inspirations start from cinema up to the description of what our name represents, that is, the personification of Time, also passing through serious themes such as gender violence and illness.
Despite the diversity of themes covered, the album is actually a single story. This is also demonstrated by the initial and final sounds of the first track and the last track: a gate that opens and, in the end, closes.
Made up of 12 tracks, it is the result of five years of work: some of the tracks date back to before the recordings of From The Wasteland itself. This album, like the previous one, was also composed, arranged and produced by us.
For the sound, we have always been inspired by the metal bands of the 80s with the structure and melodies of the 90s and 2000s. Unlike From The Wasteland however, we have implemented this last component with a lot of orchestrations, and the rhythmic-melodic figures return with much more emphasis. Take track number 11 as example: it is a musical summary of all the tracks on the album.
As for the lyrics, the album is structured as a single story of twelve chapters.
In fact, the lyrics speak of the rise and fall of a man, who replaces God by losing everything he possessed and all those he loved, including his beloved Lilith, the only character whose name is revealed, and entrusting his life and his actions to the judgment of Time.
