Gate valves are widely used in fluid control systems to control valve flow. General doors are designed to be fully open or closed. When the gate valve is fully opened, there is no obstruction in the flow path resulting in very low friction loss.

This has been driving me crazy and I have danced all around this issue trying to solve it. In the end I find it frustrating that it is one of the patches that we are told to install that made things go haywire. Thank you for giving me an out of the box idea to try.
