GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national-level examination. The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-K) and the other 6 IITs at Chennai, Kanpur, Roorkee, Delhi, Mumbai & Guwahati and the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru conduct the GATE examination on behalf of the National Coordination Board GATE under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
