All you need to do to use the Lobby System is add the "LobbySample_Map" to the Game Default Map in the Project Settings - Maps & Modes. Then try out your game in "Standalone Game" in the Editor to test the Lobby System.
Enable Enhanced Input & Common UI Plugin
To use the plugin without any problems, you need to do a few more things. Go to the plugins folder and activate Enhanced Input (activated by default) and Common UI Plugin. A button labeled Restart Engine will appear in the corner. Press this button to confirm all changes.
Enable Enhanced Input Support
In your project settings, go to the Common Input Settings tab in the Game Category. There, activate “Enable Enhanced Input Support” so that the system recognizes the Enhanced Input Actions in the UI and can reproduce them as button presses.
Common Game Viewport Client
Now go to Project Settings and select the General Settings tab in the Engine Category. There, select “Common Game Viewport Client” under Game Viewport Client Class. This allows you to see the Input Action UI on the Lobby Widget.
Controller Data
Now go to Project Settings and select the Common Input Settings tab in the Game Category. Open the Windows tab, then the Default tab, and click on the plus sign next to Controller Data. Select “BP_KeyboardData_Lobby.” This will assign a specific texture to each keyboard key for the input display. This completes the Common UI Setup.
In the editor, go to /Plugins/UE5_LobbySystem/Sample and open DT_Credits. Here you can add new credit types, which will be displayed directly in the credits menu. Click Add and insert a new creator for your game.
Category: The top display indicating which category the creator worked in, e.g., code or design.
Role: The specific task the creator performed, such as gameplay system, voice actor.
Names: All creators who performed this role in this category. They are all listed below each other without repetitions, etc.
Open wanted Settings Page
In the editor, go to /Plugins/UE5_LobbySystem/UI/LobbyPages/Settings/Pages and select one of the settings pages you want to edit. If you want a new page, duplicate one of the pages and paste it into WB_Settings, then create a new button to which the page should be connected.
Add new Setting
In the widget, you can then choose one of the two current settings changers: “WB_Slider” and “WB_OptionCycle.” You can then customize these with names, options, and default values.
WB_Slider: A custom slider that can go from 0 to 100.
WB_OptionCycle: A cycle widget that can cycle through different options.
Go to /Plugins/UE5_LobbySystem/UI and open WB_LobbyUI. Go to the Graph tab and, at the end of the “On Timer Reached Goal” function, you can change the name of your map so that this map is loaded after the lobby.
