Review: IZotope Ozone 5 Advanced VST VST3 RTAS V5.00 X86 X64 ASSiGN

IZotope Ozone 5 Advanced is a comprehensive and powerful mastering suite that offers seven modules for enhancing and polishing your audio productions. The modules are Maximizer, Equalizer, Multi-band Dynamics, Multi-band Stereo Imaging, Meter Bridge, Multi-band Harmonic Exciter and Reverb. You can use them as separate plug-ins or within the master Ozone 5 plug-in, which also provides a global preset manager and a bypass switch for each module.

In this review, I will focus on the features and performance of the Ozone 5 Advanced version, which differs from the standard Ozone 5 in several ways. First, it includes a Meter Bridge module that displays various metering options such as peak level, RMS level, loudness, phase correlation and spectrum analyzer. Second, it allows you to load any of the modules as a separate plug-in in your DAW, which gives you more flexibility and control over your signal chain. Third, it offers more presets and features for each module, such as mid/side processing for the Equalizer and Dynamics modules, additional modes and controls for the Maximizer and Exciter modules, and a hybrid algorithm for the Reverb module.

I tested Ozone 5 Advanced on a Windows 10 PC with an Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM, using Cubase Pro 10 as my DAW. I used Ozone 5 Advanced both as a master plug-in on the stereo output bus and as individual plug-ins on different tracks. I found Ozone 5 Advanced to be very easy to use and intuitive, thanks to its clear and elegant user interface and its helpful tooltips and guides. The sound quality of Ozone 5 Advanced was excellent, with a transparent and smooth character that preserved the natural dynamics and tonality of the source material. I was impressed by how Ozone 5 Advanced could improve the clarity, depth, width and loudness of my mixes with minimal tweaking.

Some of the highlights of Ozone 5 Advanced for me were:

The Maximizer module, which offers four different limiting modes (IRC I, II, III and IV) that can handle different types of material and genres. I especially liked the IRC IV mode, which sounded very natural and musical even at high levels of limiting. The Maximizer also has a Transient Recovery feature that can restore some of the lost transients due to limiting, and a Stereo Link feature that can preserve the stereo image of the signal.

The Equalizer module, which offers eight bands of parametric EQ with various filter types (bell, high/low shelf, high/low pass, band shelf and flat). The Equalizer also has a mid/side mode that allows you to adjust the mid and side channels separately, which can be very useful for enhancing the stereo width or fixing phase issues. The Equalizer also has an Analog mode that adds some subtle saturation and warmth to the signal.

The Multi-band Dynamics module, which offers four bands of dynamic processing with various modes (digital, vintage or vintage limiter). The Multi-band Dynamics also has a mid/side mode that allows you to compress or expand the mid and side channels separately, which can be very useful for balancing or enhancing the stereo image. The Multi-band Dynamics also has an Adaptive Release feature that automatically adjusts the release time based on the input signal.

The Multi-band Stereo Imaging module, which offers four bands of stereo enhancement with various modes (stereoize or widen). The Multi-band Stereo Imaging also has a mid/side mode that allows you to adjust the width of the mid and side channels separately, which can be very useful for creating a more spacious or focused soundstage. The Multi-band Stereo Imaging also has a Stereoize feature that can add some artificial stereo width to mono signals.

The Meter Bridge module, which offers various metering options such as peak level, RMS level, loudness (K-System or EBU R128), phase correlation and spectrum analyzer. The Meter Bridge also has a Dithering feature that can apply different types of dithering (MBIT+, UV22HR or Triangular) to reduce quantization noise when exporting your audio files.

The Multi-band Harmonic Exciter module, which offers four bands of harmonic distortion with various modes (tube, tape or retro). The Multi-band Harmonic Exciter also has 66dfd1ed39
