We're Garfield Robotics, a robotics club based out of Seattle's Garfield High School.
We have over 30 active members participating in the FIRST Tech Challenge, an international robotics competition. Our club was founded in 2009 as FTC team 4042, Dawgbotics, and due to a growing number of members we have expanded to add a second team to the program this year. As part of FTC, we design, build, code, and drive our robot, all while documenting our progress in a professional engineering notebook and raising funds. Our club has two main missions: to inspire our members to pursue careers in STEM fields, and to teach members leadership and teamwork skills that will be applicable no matter what career they choose to pursue later in life.
3/8/2017 - New Contact Details and Website!
Our team is hard at work this off-season making sure we are completely ready for the start of next year. One goal we have is to establish a better "brand" for our team, and we have accomplished a significant milestone. After approaching several web hosting companies, InMotion Hosting was kind enough to donate a free website and hosting package to our team! As of today, our email address has officially changed to email@example.com, and our website can also be accessed at garfieldrobotics.com. Currently we're working on a complete redesign of the current website, and will hopefully have it online in a few weeks. Once again, big thanks to InMotion Hosting for their generous sponsorship, and we will post an update when the new website is online!
2/19/2017 - 2016-17 Robot Reveal Video
This year, though we didn't make it to state, we are very proud of the robot that we created, and wanted to show our community what it can do. Because of this, we decided to make a video that showcases the various features and unique designs on our robot.
In addition, since we haven't sent out a formal announcement, our team has started a Twitter account where we are posting updates on what we're doing. Once again, if you have any questions about the robot or anything else, don't hesitate to contact us.
PS: Parents, the end of the year potluck will be on Thursday, March 23rd. Check your email for more information and to RSVP. We hope to see you there!
