It was exciting for me to be around and work together with the youth and everyone as we held this summit. The summit was meant to be a milestone for them as enrolled students and for us to empower them further.
We also used this summit to collect feedback. The method we employed was an exercise where they were divided into groups. Each group elected a leader and discussed the questions we provided. After some time, each group came forward and presented their discussions.
They shared how the program has impacted their lives; it was interesting to see how they view life differently and how it has enhanced them. Their experiences were touching and fulfilling.
We also received feedback on the content they are interested in learning. One of the top five requests was focused on technology.
A great joy for me was the opportunity to bridge the language barrier. I speak Hausa, and the community was predominantly Hausa-speaking. Although some participants did speak and understand English, our goal was to ensure that no one was left behind, which is where I came in.
It was incredibly rewarding to see everyone fully engaged and to know that I played a part in making the experience accessible and meaningful for all.
