GapGuard is an offline-first memorization app for learning texts and poems by heart. The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, provide an email address, provide a phone number, or submit any other personal identifier in order to use its core functionality.
We do not collect, store on our servers, or sell:
Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
Precise or approximate location data.
Contacts, calendars, photos, or files from your device beyond what you explicitly enter into the App or choose to share through system features.
Health, biometric, government identification, payment card, or financial account data.
The texts, poems, excerpts, mask presets, drills, or practice results you create in the App.
All content you create inside the App is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage frameworks (Core Data and app preferences). This may include the full text of poems and passages you add, their titles, sources and notes, excerpts, mask presets (including any cover or shelf photos you attach from your photo library), practice drills, your recital practice progress, and app settings such as appearance, span unit, and haptics.
This information does not leave your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export it through system features such as the share sheet.
If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data is removed together with the App.
The App lets you share a drill summary as plain text through the native iOS share sheet. Sharing is always initiated by you. The App does not automatically upload, transmit, synchronize, or back up your records to any server.
Once you share content through system features or another app, that content is handled according to the policies and settings of the receiving service.
If you choose to attach a cover or shelf photo to a mask preset, the App imports a copy of that image from your photo library and stores it locally within the App's own storage. The App requests access to your photo library only when you actively pick a photo, and only the images you select are imported. These photos never leave your device unless you share them yourself.
The App may use Apple's standard crash reporting and diagnostic services. This information is processed by Apple in accordance with its privacy policy and is not directly accessible to us in a personally identifiable form.
The current version of the App does not embed third-party advertising networks, analytics providers, social media trackers, cloud sync services, or backend services that collect personal data. The App makes no network requests of its own.
If a future version introduces any third-party service, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly before that version is released.
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App collects no personal information at all, no such information about any user — including children — is gathered.
Because all of your content is stored locally on your device, you remain in full control of it at all times. You can review, edit, or delete your texts, excerpts, mask presets, drills, and attached photos directly inside the App, and you can erase all data at once from Settings. Deleting the App from your device permanently removes all locally stored content associated with it.
We rely on the security mechanisms provided by iOS, including device encryption and app sandboxing, to protect data stored by the App on your device. No method of electronic storage is 100 percent secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Effective date" and will be available within the App or at the URL provided in the App Store listing. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or about how the App handles information, please use the support contact or support URL provided in the App Store listing.
