The Gap Analysis Hub is a centralized platform providing the scientific methodology and analytical tools necessary for genebanks to strategically prioritize collection missions. We move beyond simple mapping to generate precise, actionable insights, ensuring scarce resources are directed towards collecting genetic material most at risk or underrepresented in ex situ collections.
We focus on assessing the representativeness of crop wild relatives (CWR) and crop landraces in gene banks, providing quantitative indicators of species, ecological, and genetic gaps.
Our primary output is the provision of open-source analytical tools (R-packages, Shiny apps) and comprehensive training to build capacity within the global genebank community.
