Design of Adder to Add Two 3-bit Numbers
To design adder circuit to add two 3-bit numbers using full adder with the help of open source software
At the end of this experiment students are able to
LO1: Design full adder
LO2: Design adder circuit to add two 3- bit numbers
LO3: Connect full adder in cascade form to add two 3- bit numbers
Software implementation: Use of any digital circuit simulator or use online simulator www.falstad.com/circuit/
Refer following PPT for introduction of full adder
Step 1: Design a full adder using logic gates.
Step 2: Make copy of full adder so total three full adder circuit must be there
Step 3: Feed carry input to first LSB adder as 0
Step 4: Connect carry output of first adder to carry input to second adder and carry output of second adder to carry input to third adder.
Step 5: Now give respective bit input and observe the output
To simulate above circuit, you can use any software with digital logic elements.
