The Galway Friends of Music (Galway FOM) is a non-profit organization comprised of parents and community members who work together to support the music and performing arts in Galway Central Schools (GCS). Galway FOM assists the instrumental, choral, and performing arts programs by providing volunteers and and financial support through our annual Coffee House and Galway's got Talent showcases, PTSA Dance Program recital flower sales, and generous patron donations.

Galway Friends of Music provides yearly scholarships for graduating seniors, assists with funding instrument purchases and repairs, and supplies financial support to choral and band students attending out of town music conferences, competitions, and festivals. In addition, Galway FOM has contributed to purchases of new curtains for the stage, risers for the choral students, wireless microphones for Galway High Drama (GCS Drama Club), and the purchase of a new sound system for the auditorium.

Mr. Barrow recently met with the sixth grade parents. He had an open practice with the sixth grade students demonstrating what a day in sixth grade band would be like. It was a great success with students and parents each learning new musical information. Enjoy the photos from the event below.

In addition, Adam Alden, Jane Lapati, Tyler Bombard, Carter Larson, Hailey Reome, and Dre McElhinney were selected to participate in the four-day Northeast Instrumental Music Festival in Lake George.

Music All Stars

Congratulations to the Galway Junior/Senior High band members who were selected to participate in the All-County Band Festival. Students from Saratoga and Warren Counties came together to work with guest conductors and present a concert on the final day of the festival. This year’s groups included:
