As it states it doesn't prevent other apps from accessing the album pics via other means like file explorers, etc... However anyone just having a nosey through your gallery app, will be unable to access any albums that are locked.

I like the concept but found it difficult to use. The customer support was quick, but they understand the product and how to use it and so have difficulty understanding what the lay person does not get. I worked my way through getting it set up on the computer. I am fairly satisfied. My biggest complaint on the computer is that when you shut down computer and have the program off (you need to turn it off to work) it does not remind you to lock the folder again.

With a gallery, you can share your resources to everyone, or limit sharing to different users, service principals, or AD groups within your organization. Resources can be replicated to multiple regions, for quicker scaling of your deployments.

When utilizing the direct shared gallery, images are distributed widely to all users in a subscription/tenant, while the community gallery distributes images publicly. It is recommended to exercise caution when sharing images that contain intellectual property to prevent widespread distribution.

Give specific subscriptions or tenants access to a direct shared Azure Compute Gallery. Sharing a gallery with tenants and subscriptions give them read-only access to your gallery. For more information, see Share a gallery with subscriptions or tenants.

During the preview, you need to create a new gallery, with the property sharingProfile.permissions set to Groups. When using the CLI to create a gallery, use the --permissions groups parameter. You can't use an existing gallery, the property can't currently be updated.

To share a gallery with all Azure users, you can create a community gallery. Community galleries can be used by anyone with an Azure subscription. Someone creating a VM can browse images shared with the community using the portal, REST, or the Azure CLI.

Sharing images to the community is a new capability in Azure Compute Gallery. You can make your image galleries public, and share them to all Azure customers. When a gallery is marked as a community gallery, all images under the gallery become available to all Azure customers as a new resource type under Microsoft.Compute/communityGalleries. All Azure customers can see the galleries and use them to create VMs. Your original resources of the type Microsoft.Compute/galleries are still under your subscription, and private.

The Activity log displays recent activity on the gallery, image, or version including any configuration changes and when it was created and deleted. View the activity log in the Azure portal, or create a diagnostic setting to send it to a Log Analytics workspace, where you can view events over time or analyze them with other collected data

Keep a minimum of 3 replicas for production images. For every 20 VMs that you create concurrently, we recommend you keep one replica. For example, if you create 1000 VMs concurrently, you should keep 50 replicas (you can have a maximum of 50 replicas per region). To update the replica count, please go to the gallery -> Image Definition -> Image Version -> Update replication.

When creating an image definition, keep the Publisher/Offer/SKU consistent with Marketplace images to easily identify OS versions. For example, if you're customizing a Windows server 2019 image from Marketplace and store it as a Compute gallery image, please use the same Publisher/Offer/SKU that is used in the Marketplace image in your compute gallery image.

For disaster recovery scenarios, it's a best practice is to have at least two galleries, in different regions. You can still use image versions in other regions, but if the region your gallery is in goes down, you can't create new gallery resources or update existing ones.

I'm trying to figure out a way to stop two people from being on the same Edit Form at the same time. So I have a gallery and when you click on the arrow it takes you to another screen where you can edit information about that specific item. The issue is we can have multiple people in the app at the same time but we don't want two people to be doing the same request at the same time. I would like for the app to disable the submit button and have a label show up that says "This item is locked by .".

I was able to get something very similar to this worked out. When they press the button to go into the edit form screen I have a patch happen that sends the logged in users email address to the database. Then once they are on the screen I have the submit button disappear and an unlock button appear based on the value in the database. I did bring in a gallery (that filters only the data that was clicked into) and a timer that refreshes the gallery every ten seconds. So if someone goes into the app and unlocks the edit form for the particular entry then the other persons page shows the lock button. I'm sure I may have been able to find a better solution but for what we need it for it will work.

When users forget the password, they will surely be locked and won't be able to access their locked files and data. On this page, in Part 1, you'll find 3 methods provided by professional users and geeks to unlock Folder Lock without the password.

"I locked one of the folders in my laptop (windows 10) by using a password-protected code. I just put the code on a notepad, create a folder, and locked it. It's a Windows batch file (cmd.exe). I have totally forgotten my password now and tried at least 30 times to open it. Unfortunately, the password was wrong and it didn't work.

Google Photos on Android offers the option to create a locked folder. But why would you even want this feature? Maybe you want to take pictures of your personal documents, like vaccination cards or your diver's license, to keep close at hand? Or maybe you have images or videos that you'd rather no one else see?

For these kinds of pictures, you can set up a locked folder in Google Photos on Android to tuck images and documents away for safekeeping. Once you've set this feature up, the only way to view the pictures is via your default screen-unlock authentication, such as the fingerprint scanner.

There is, of course, a caveat to using a locked folder. Any photo or video stored within that folder is not backed up to your cloud account. So, choose the photos and videos you want to lock up wisely. Or, better yet, make sure you have a copy of that folder saved in a safe (think "encrypted") folder on your local machine.

I'm going to demonstrate how to set up a locked folder in Google Photos on Android 12 running on a Pixel 6 Pro. This process should work in a similar fashion on other devices, so long as you're running a version of Android that's equal to or newer than 12.
