Skeletal System

There are 206 bones in an adult skeleton. We will be looking at/ memorizing the name of less than 25 of them. This mini unit will take around a week with most of the time spent on the owl pellet group project.

Activities

  • Learn the bones of the upper body and quiz on just those.

  • Learn the bones of the lower body and quiz on just those.

  • Owl Pellets: using the owl pellet to cover topics of ecology, food webs, and the skeletal system. Students will take the bones of the owl pellet and create the skeleton of a mouse or rat (although some pellets contain birds or other rodents).
