GAIA2025 – Generative AI and Actions for a changing world is a PhD school designed to equip young researchers with a solid understanding of the mathematical, algorithmic, and application-driven aspects of Generative Artificial Intelligence.
The school is aimed at PhD students in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering who have a basic familiarity with neural networks. It offers a unique blend of theoretical insights and hands-on experience, tailored to accommodate diverse academic backgrounds and foster interdisciplinary learning.
Provide solid theoretical foundations of Generative AI, including essential concepts from probability theory, optimization, and deep learning architectures such as VAEs, GANs, and diffusion models.
Offer practical, hands-on training, allowing participants to gain experience with state-of-the-art generative techniques applied to real-world imaging problems.
Showcase impactful applications of Generative AI to address key global challenges, including:
Creative and artistic content generation
Medical image processing and analysis
Detection and mitigation of deepfakes and AI-generated threats, within the context of cybersecurity
Each topic will be explored both intuitively and technically to ensure accessibility and depth, helping students from different domains engage fully with the content. For participants who require course accreditation, an exam will be offered at the end of each module.
From November 17th to November 20th (4 days - 3 nights).
Hotel Ambasciatori, Viale Amerigo Vespucci, 22, 47921, Rimini (RN), Italy.
The event is funded by Spoke 8 of SERICS (PE00000014) under the MUR National Recovery and Resilience Plan funded by the European Union - NextGenerationEU program.
