Spend a week immersed in the magic of Lake Atitlán, surrounded by sweeping volcano views and serene waters. Through twice-daily yoga, meditation, breathwork, and intentional workshops, you'll create space to slow down, reconnect, and return to what matters most. Between practices, explore the beauty of the lake through kayaking, hiking, swimming, and local cultural experiences, or simply rest beneath the sun with nowhere else to be. Rooted in community and guided by ritual, this retreat is an invitation to release what no longer serves you and step into the next season of your life with greater clarity and intention.

With a background as an educator - most recently as a middle school principal - and a seasoned yoga practitioner, Maureen seamlessly transitioned her expertise from leading a school to guiding individuals on their yoga journey. Her initial inspiration from practicing asana with her older sister years ago blossomed into a profound exploration of meditation and yoga philosophy during three transformative years living in India.
In her classes, Maureen combines thematic flows, a touch of humor, and accessible practices with introspective moments, hands-on assists and uplifting music. Her sessions reflect a journey of self-discovery, energy and community, inviting students to explore and grow as people on the mat so they can be their best selves off the mat. Join her on the mat to ignite your inner fire and reconnect with yourself in a welcoming space.
April is an exceptional teacher whose work is rooted in mindfulness, connection, and the belief that we all have more inner wisdom and strength than we realize. Her classes are inclusive, playful, empowering, and deeply connected to community. She has spent more than a decade working with schools and organizations across the country, bringing yoga, mindfulness, restorative practices, and trauma-informed tools to teachers, young people, and communities. April holds a Master’s in Spirituality and Mindfulness from Columbia University and has taught with organizations including Mindful Schools and the Lineage Project. She is also certified in Pilates, Barre, and personal training, and brings a wonderfully grounded, curious, and compassionate energy to everything she teaches. These days, her greatest joy is being a foster mom, which she says is her greatest mindfulness practice of all.

What are the travel details?
You’ll fly into Guatemala City (GUA), where we’ll coordinate group transportation to Villa Sumaya (about a 3-hour scenic drive to Lake Atitlán). We’re planning a group shuttle on Saturday, January 23 around early afternoon, and will share exact timing and recommended flights closer to the date.
Travel to Atitlán does take a bit of time, and that’s exactly why we’ve designed this as a full 7-night retreat so you can truly settle in and enjoy the experience. We promise, it’s more than worth it ✨
There are a mix of flight options (some direct, some with connections), and we’ll guide you toward the best ones. For a more relaxed experience, you may also consider arriving the day before and staying overnight in Guatemala City or the beautiful town of Antigua, then heading to the lake with the group the next day.
No matter which route you take, we’ve got you - everything will be clearly organized and communicated so your travel feels smooth and stress-free.
What’s the cancellation policy?
A $500 deposit is non-refundable. If you’ve paid in full and need to cancel, you’ll receive a refund only if we’re able to fill your spot with another guest. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment in case of unexpected changes.
No, the 3 beautiful on-site yoga spaces have plenty of mats and props for everyone, so you can travel light.
