About Me

I am a first year currently pursuing a Ph.D in Political Science at University of New Mexico studying American Politics, Race Ethnic Politics and Immigration. I've lived and observed the inequalities and justices on both sides of the border. I have been pushed to drop out of high school and I have felt the force of police abuse in my community. I have an interesting point of view and experiences that most graduate students do not have. My dream since being in higher education was to receive a Ph.D in Political Science. I was inspired after reading Fluid Borders by Professor Garcia Bedolla at UCB. I was inspired to help my community involved politically after getting out the vote in a local election and participating in non profits in San Diego and Tijuana. I have been a student researcher for Dr.Abrjano UCSD and been advised for Dr. Jones at UCD. My current advisor and mentor is Dr.Collingwood and Dr.Sanchez at UNM.
