My Data Analysis Learning Journal
A thorough and results driven professional adept at representing information in meaningful ways
and distilling data sets into easy to understand insights.
Bitten by the lifelong learning bug while administrating courses that cater to reskilling and upskilling of Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs) in a Singapore University, I embarked on my personal goal of being data competent and data literate in order to upskill myself. The lack of digital skills made me realized that in-order to start working with data, I need to be comfortable with data. This skill and competency I believe, will allow me to be better engage and understand what is available within a data set to interpret, discover trends and new insights for improved decision making in businesses.
I have always been intrigued by the quest for knowledge, how to solve problems and finding the truth. I am naturally curious, always eager to learn new things thus am extremely keen to pursue a role that involves learning research methodologies and data analysis in the information technology domain and I believe that my transferable skills in project planning and scheduling, the attention to detail, critical thinking and communication will allow me to strive in this role.
By channeling this passion and drive into learning as well as a mid-career change involving data analytics, I did my research and curated my individual learning journey though self-study on subjects and relevant tools via e-learning platforms like Coursera, Udemy and LinkedIn Learning. Although an extremely steep learning curve for me, these are the first steps of my upskilling and mid-career change journey to understand the importance of research, data and the role it plays in keeping businesses viable and competitive.
