When starting this self-portrait, I had no idea what I was going to make. I was experiencing an art block, but I needed to get something on paper. I started by spilling a pool of black ink. I doodled on top of it with a white paint marker, before I decided to bring out the paint. Every summer, I get to a point where I am basically isolated from the rest of the world. I stay inside and rarely leave the house. It was near the end of summer when I created this piece, so I wanted to express how I felt. I used colors resembling a galaxy because space itself is always alone. I wrote a poem about loneliness and pasted it to the final piece.
