Tattoo Artist Ihori

Ihori (刺青師 伊彫) is a Japanese tattoo artist active since 2018 under the studio LOYAL TATTOO in Tokyo and Yokohama.

Biography

After graduating from high school, Ihori traveled extensively through the United States, Australia, and Southeast Asia during his twenties. While in New York, he studied film production and graphic design. Upon returning to Japan, he worked as a CG designer before beginning to pursue tattooing as a self-taught artist around 2013.

In 2017, he traveled to Germany after contact with Bavarian Custom Irons founder Stefan Fischer, learning tattoo techniques, hygiene, and technical fundamentals in Munich, Hamburg, and Salzburg. He also visited studios of traditional Japanese tattoo masters during the same period.

In 2018, he established LOYAL TATTOO Tokyo in Shibuya and made his professional debut as a tattoo artist. He studied Japanese traditional tattooing under Hori Tsuna I.

In 2019, he participated in several European tattoo conventions (Germany, Italy, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Belgium) and received the Encouragement Award (Medium Size Category) at the Genoa International Tattoo Convention in Italy.

In 2022, LOYAL TATTOO relocated to Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo.

In 2024, a new base was established near Yokohama Station (“Yokohama Otherworld”), along with a tattoo machine factory.

In 2025, a secondary base was opened in Kabukicho, Tokyo (“Tokyo Otherworld”).

Style

Ihori’s tattoo works are characterized by ultra-fine linework and precise dot shading. He employs custom-built fine tattoo needles and original tattoo ink to achieve a pencil-drawn effect that conventional tattoos cannot reproduce. His main style is black tattoos / jailhouse tattoos, while also exploring collage-based and Trash Polka-inspired designs.

LT Machines

Ihori also develops and manufactures rotary tattoo machines under the brand LT Machines, produced entirely in Japan in collaboration with precision factories. The machines are designed for professional use, featuring fine vibration control, silent operation, and long-session stability.
