I have a JGS524PE ProSafe Switch running Firmware version 2.0.1.26 that have not been updated in a very long time. I wanted to update to the latest version firmware for this switch. I am a novice at switches and assumed I could use the ProSafe Utility to do this firmware upgrade. I tried the original version of the ProSafe Utility and it did load and displayed my switch. I hit apply and entered my password and then received the following error. "The Switch and Manager IP Address are not on the same subnet" .

Of course you cant reach it - the first is the switch default IP address, the second is the IP address of your WIndows system. As these are not in the same subnet, the 192.168.0.239/24 can't be reached. temporarily change the LAN IP address of your Windows system to some address in the 192.168.0.0/24 (255.255.255.0) network, like 192.168.0.123. Now you will be able to reach the switch.

Yes, of course - the workaround was supplied to regain management control of your switch. Either to set an IP address matching your network, or ensure it's in DHCP mode so it will pick up a valid network config from your DHCP server (typically on the router). Then you cna revert the config change on your WIndows system again.

Thank you for confirming the IP change is a workaround to regain control of the switch and that the IP change needs to be reverted. With the overall goal of upgrading the firmware on my switch I can now access the switch and the maintenance menu.

This looks like the switch does try to talk to the Windows 10 system where the utility is running, attempting to establish a tftp session to a tftp server run as part of the utility. If operating 3rd party firewall (or similar/related Internet security garbage [sorry]) - disable it. Running the utility as administrator might help, too.

Just for a recap, I went to Netgear.com and downloaded the ProSafe Utility that it said was most current for my JGS524PE switch. The EXE is date 8/6/2010. I have been able to right click on that EXE and run it in "Run as Administrator" but I get the same TFTP Timeout.

As you are already running the version 2.0.1.26 I would recommend to try to access to the switch using a web browser and try to upgrade the firmware from there. And later on try to use again the ProSAFE Plus Utility.

If you have Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky Total Security installed, you can switch to Kaspersky Standard, Plus or Premium. To do so, use the instructions from the Table below.

I have a GE Enbrighten Z-Wave Plus toggle switch (46202/ZW4009). It works fine with the built in GE Enbrighten Z-Wave Smart Switch driver. In order to use association, I switch to GE Z-Wave Plus Switch driver. But I am getting the following warning:

So I got it working on the same day as your reply. (Sorry it took me so long to respond) I'm really not sure what my issue was. I did notice what you are referring to and I guess this could have been my original issue, but not sure. I have since swapped it with a newer switch in my home that didn't have a remote so that I can double tap the remote switch as well. All seems to be good at the moment. Thank you for the help.

I thought before that the driver created an additional digital push button which could be used independently of physically touching the device. I use Hubitat with HomeAssistant, and I was looking for a way to push the button when the switch is on, which can allow for additional actions.

The cost for all of that is $100, which is pretty high as far as smart light switches are concerned. You can get Lutron's Caseta Switches and Belkin's WeMo Dimmer, which both received good reviews here on CNET, for less. Each of those will also dim the lights -- Ecobee's Switch won't. It also doesn't work in three-way setups where your light is connected to more than one switch.

Both of those are disappointing omissions, and you also won't be able to use the built-in temperature sensor to pair the switch with Ecobee's thermostats until a firmware update arrives this summer. That sours the deal on an already expensive smart switch, but it worked as promised in my tests and offers some unique features you won't find elsewhere. It's a splurge, but a justifiable one, especially if you're an existing Ecobee user who's looking to smarten up some lights and expand Alexa's footprint in your home in one fell swoop.

The Ecobee Switch Plus is an attractive little push-button light switch. To install it, you'll need to shut the power off and remove your existing switch, then connect Ecobee's line, load, ground and neutral wires. Once the Switch is in place and the power is back on, you'll just need to open up the Ecobee app to finish pairing everything with your home network and your Alexa account, along with your HomeKit account if you're planning on controlling the light using Siri commands.

Those automations make use of the Switch's built-in sensors. For instance, you can set it to turn the lights on automatically when it detects someone entering the room and to turn them off automatically once the room is empty. If you're automating an outdoor light, you can set the switch to turn on automatically at sunset. You can also set a little nightlight at the bottom of the switch to start glowing whenever the room is dark. All of it worked perfectly when I tested the switch out at the CNET Smart Home.

Speaking of Alexa, the Ecobee Switch Plus works just like an Echo device. You'll say "Alexa" to wake it up, it'll light up blue to show you that it's listening, and then you'll say your question or command (you can also wake Alexa up by pressing a button on the top of the switch, and you can mute the mic to stop her from listening for the wake word by pressing another button right next to it). Once awake, you can ask Alexa for a joke or for the latest headlines, you can ask her to control your other smart home devices, and you can ask her to run any of Alexa's tens of thousands of "skills" (voice apps, essentially).

You can even ask Alexa to stream tunes from Amazon Music (Spotify support is supposedly coming soon). I was admittedly skeptical about music playback from a light switch, but the sound quality was honestly much better than I expected -- roughly on par with the Echo Dot, and good enough for casual listening in smallish, quiet rooms. With the current proliferation of voice devices throughout our homes, there's a lot of work going into designing micro-size speakers right now -- the Ecobee Switch Plus might indicate that it's paying off.

That said, the lack of dimming controls or three-way switch support will likely serve as a deal-breaker to some. The iDevices Instinct Switch will almost undoubtedly cost more than Ecobee's Switch when it arrives later this year, but it'll be hard to argue against paying a bit more for an equally full-featured switch that can actually dim the lights. As much as I like Ecobee's talkative light switch, I think most shoppers would be wise to hold off on buying one until we see iDevices enter the fight.

I'm a bit rusty but there's 2 boot files, aka images, on every switch. Normally you would view which boot file you are currently using. Upload the new version. Then tell the switch to boot from the new file.

So that worked! Which means I was downloading the wrong firmware. It annoys me that HP have more thank one switch with the the same model number of 1910-24 but different product numbers. So the production number I needed in my case was JE006A NOT JG538A.

This machine has an innovative design featuring an automated feed with a one touch reverse switch. It also has a 9in A4 opening with a full width sensor and integrated storage ideal for placing your dies in. Simply use the base adapter with your thinlit dies for effortless die cutting every time.

You can find the firmware version on your Web Managed Plus Switch in two ways. If you know your switch's IP address, use the switch's admin interface. If you do not know the switch's IP address, use the NETGEAR Switch Discovery Tool (NSDT).

It gives you all the basic functionality for a managed switch, plus more: allows to manage port-to-port forwarding, apply MAC filter, configure VLANs, mirror traffic, apply bandwidth limitation and even adjust some MAC and IP header fields. SFP cage supports both 1.25 Gb SFP and 10 Gb SFP+ modules.

MultiSwitch Plus gives you a new means of exploring preset banks. Use the left switch to move down a bank, right switch to move up a bank, and middle switch to cycle through your presets within the current bank. A great way to explore all of your presets.

Use MultiSwitch Plus to recall the perfect preset on your TimeLine, BigSky, or Mobius. Easily scroll through saved presets using the left and right switches, and engage/bypass the preset you have selected with the middle switch. e24fc04721
