Party walls are walls that separate buildings or units within a building. They provide fire resistance and sound resistance between occupants in a building. The minimum fire resistance and sound resistance required for the party wall is determined by a building code and may be modified to suit a variety of situations. Ownership of such walls can become a legal issue. It is not a load-bearing wall and may be owned by different people.

Fire walls resist spread of fire within or sometimes between structures to provide passive fire protection. I have 2.5.0 and in the advanced tab. For some reason I can't check the box for "detect thin walls". I'm assuming I made a change to something that effected the ability to do so. However, even going back to the original prusa presets (0.20 Quality, Prusament PETG, Original Prusa i3 MK3S & MK3S+) I still can't enable it.

Yes. From 2.5 onwards the default slicing engine is now Arachne. That varies extrusion thickness to get a 'best fit'. Of course how well it works is an exercise left for the user to decide. It has its own set of settings and as such is not compatible with detect thin walls.

Don't know why you would want to anyway as that particular setting has always been error prone. Far better to make sure your walls are actually thick enough to print in the first place modelling wise than to rely on software that often gets it wrong and prints thicker anyway. If its going to print them thicker then you might as well model them that thickness to start with.

Well, the reason you'd want to be able to enable it is when Arachne fails to detect thin walls and leaves you holes in your model. And sure, if you're printing something you designed, it's best to design it to be printable. But if you're trying to get someone else's model to work at the edges of the capability of your printer, sometimes detect thin walls works better than Arachne.

Plants have evolved complex nanofibril-based cell walls to meet diverse biological and physical constraints. How strength and extensibility emerge from the nanoscale-to-mesoscale organization of growing cell walls has long been unresolved. We sought to clarify the mechanical roles of cellulose and matrix polysaccharides by developing a coarse-grained model based on polymer physics that recapitulates aspects of assembly and tensile mechanics of epidermal cell walls. Simple noncovalent binding interactions in the model generate bundled cellulose networks resembling that of primary cell walls and possessing stress-dependent elasticity, stiffening, and plasticity beyond a yield threshold. Plasticity originates from fibril-fibril sliding in aligned cellulose networks. This physical model provides quantitative insight into fundamental questions of plant mechanobiology and reveals design principles of biomaterials that combine stiffness with yielding and extensibility. e24fc04721
