Hello! I’m Furqan Rustam, a researcher and educator specializing in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. Originally from Pakistan, my work is driven by a strong interest in understanding how intelligent systems can be used to create a safer and more secure digital world.
I began my academic journey in Computer Science, where I developed a solid foundation in programming, algorithms, and data systems. Over time, my focus shifted toward Cybersecurity, particularly in addressing challenges related to online safety, data protection, and malicious digital behavior. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. at University College Dublin, where my research explores how Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing can be applied to detect and mitigate harmful or toxic interactions online.
My research interests include cyber threat detection, online abuse prevention, data security, and AI-driven defense mechanisms. I am particularly interested in developing intelligent models that can analyze large-scale digital data and identify security risks in real time.
Alongside my research, I am actively involved in teaching and mentoring students, helping them understand core concepts in computing, cybersecurity, and machine learning. I aim to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills relevant to modern technological challenges. In addition to academia, I work as a freelance professional on Fiverr, where I contribute to technical writing and machine learning projects. Achieving Level 2 Seller status reflects my commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable work.
