This Privacy Policy explains how Funny Broken Screen Prank ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the App. By installing or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1) What the App Does
Funny Broken Screen Prank lets users:
- browse, preview, download, and set wallpapers;
- set single, dual, and video wallpapers;
- use broken-screen prank effects displayed as an overlay above other apps;
- optionally trigger prank effects by touch, shake, or timer;
- use optional sound prank features and vibration effects;
- import a photo from the device for certain features such as custom wallpaper setup or photo-to-video effects;
- apply visual effects and create local media outputs from selected images; and
- receive optional notifications about wallpapers, recommendations, trending content, or new content if notifications are enabled.
2) Information We Collect
We do not require you to create an account to use the App.
A. Information collected automatically
Depending on how you use the App, we or our service providers may process information such as:
- device model, operating system version, app version, language, and general diagnostic information;
- approximate region inferred from IP address by our service providers;
- advertising and measurement data, including Advertising ID or similar identifiers used by advertising SDKs;
- ad impressions, ad interactions, and basic app interaction events;
- network/connectivity state used to load content and manage downloads more reliably; and
- crash, performance, and technical troubleshooting information generated by the app, the Android system, or integrated SDKs.
B. Local app data stored on your device
The App may store information locally on your device, such as:
- favorites, likes, and wallpaper selection history;
- notification preferences and timing preferences;
- recent category interests used to tailor optional in-app recommendations or notifications;
- cached wallpapers, cached videos, and temporary effect files; and
- a random app-scoped identifier generated locally to help prevent duplicate like/set events and sync aggregate counters.
C. User-selected content
If you choose to import an image from your device, the App accesses only the specific file you select through the system picker. Imported images are processed locally on your device and may be cached temporarily in the app's private storage to support previewing, editing, wallpaper application, or photo-to-video features. We do not upload your selected images to our servers merely because you use these features.
D. Optional feedback you choose to send
If you choose to contact us or use an in-app feedback option that opens your email app, we may receive the information you include in that message, along with technical details automatically inserted into the draft such as app version, Android version, device manufacturer, and device model. This information is used only to respond to your request and improve the App.
3) Permissions and Why We Use Them
The App may request or use the following permissions and capabilities, depending on your device and the feature you choose to use:
- Draw over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): used to display the broken-screen prank overlay above other apps.
- Foreground service: used to keep the overlay feature running with a visible notification while active.
- Post notifications (Android 13+): used for the overlay control notification and, if enabled by you, for wallpaper recommendations, trending content, or new-content notifications.
- Accelerometer / motion sensors: used for optional shake-to-activate prank effects. Sensor data is processed on-device and is not stored as raw motion history.
- Internet and network state: used to load remote wallpapers, videos, effects, ads, and related content, and to manage connectivity-aware behavior.
- Set wallpaper: used when you ask the App to apply wallpapers on your device.
- Vibrate: used for optional sound prank and interaction feedback features.
- Storage / media save access on older Android versions only: on Android 9 and below, the App may request legacy write access when needed to save images to public device storage. On newer Android versions, the App uses system-supported storage APIs instead.
We do not use the camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, call logs, or precise location for this App.
We do not record your screen, keystrokes, or the content shown in other apps.
4) Advertising and Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party services to provide ads, content delivery, review flows, and backend support. Depending on your configuration and actual SDK usage, these services may include:
- Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads for advertising and ad measurement;
- Google Play In-App Review for the rating/review flow;
- Firebase Firestore for remote content and aggregate counters/statistics; and
- other Google Play or Android platform services necessary for app delivery and performance.
These providers may collect or process information under their own privacy policies. Their processing may include identifiers such as Advertising ID, device information, IP-based approximate location, and advertising or measurement data.
5) How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide wallpapers, prank effects, downloads, and related features;
- keep the overlay feature functional and controllable;
- load remote content and improve content reliability;
- show ads and measure ad performance;
- remember favorites, settings, and notification preferences;
- send optional notifications that you choose to enable;
- maintain aggregate counts such as likes, sets, or popularity metrics; and
- diagnose bugs, reduce crashes, and improve app performance and stability.
6) Notifications and Personalization
If you enable notifications, the App may send notifications about new wallpapers, trending picks, recommendations, or app features. Some recommendations may be based on local app activity such as favorites, recent picks, categories you interacted with, or your chosen notification settings. This lightweight personalization is primarily stored and processed on-device.
You can turn notifications off at any time from the App settings or your device settings.
7) Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with service providers only as needed for app functionality, advertising, backend support, analytics/measurement actually in use, legal compliance, security, or fraud prevention.
8) Data Retention
We keep locally stored data on your device until it is removed by you, cleared by the App, overwritten by newer cache files, or deleted when you uninstall the App. Some cached files and temporary files may be deleted automatically to save space.
Third-party providers may retain data according to their own retention policies and legal obligations.
9) Your Choices and Controls
You can:
- revoke overlay permission in Android settings;
- disable notifications in Android settings or inside the App;
- reset or limit the Advertising ID through your device or Google settings where available;
- clear the App's storage or cache from Android settings;
- uninstall the App; and
- contact us about privacy questions or requests.
10) Children's Privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will review the request.
11) International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process data on servers located in different countries. Where applicable, those providers are responsible for implementing appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
12) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
13) Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated Policy.
