Funding/Grant Support
Dr Kuhar is grateful for substantial support by the Johns Hopkins University and Emory University for salary and other funds.
Dr Kuhar’s research and teaching has been supported by grant funds awarded in a competitive process; these amounted to about 40 million dollars (when a million dollars really meant something).
The federal sources of these grants include the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, the National Institute of Neurologic Disorders and Stroke, and The Office of National Drug Control Policy.
Non federal sources include the Georgia Research Society, various foundations such as the McKnight Foundation and the Huntington Disease Fund, various pharmaceutical companies such as Hoffman LaRoche, Pfizer, Lederle, Upjohn, and Solvay.
Without this generous support, none of the achievements in this document would have been possible.
