Dr. Carlee Schwartz, OTD, OTR/L is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT). Carlee works in Early Intervention with children aged birth-three years old. Carlee is an Author of two children's book full of satirical humor. Her first two books, I'm The Fun Aunt and I'm The Fun Uncle are a passion project about her experience becoming a new Aunt in 2024!
Fun Aunt Carlee has had the pleasure of watching her older brother and younger sister become parents, watching the highs, lows, and craziness of the journey.
The purpose of this page is to allow parents to explore a low stimulation story time platform for your young children. In today's world, we are constantly over stimulated with advertisements, colors, and movement. As a pediatric OT, I see the impact of an overstimulated child regularly.
Taking the time to calm our bodies, decrease stress, and become prepared for nap or bedtime increase a child's development, increases developmental milestone management, and can decrease a number of chronic illnesses that can develop as your child grows (ie: obesity from overeating, mental health, anxiety, sleep deprivation, and more).
To create a low stimulation platform for children to enjoy imagination through books and storytelling. Children who are read to regularly learn on average about a million more words than children who do not have access to books and/or are not read to on a regular basis.
My goal is to provide a free YouTube channel to expose children from any and all socioeconomic statuses that may or may not have access to books to create an environment where access is available to all. My goal is also to provide a channel that gives parents a place to let their children learn without the fear of over stimulating them or creating addictive behaviors.
Red and Amber colored lights are known to create a calming effect on our bodies. For small children, the red light is a warm, calming color that helps their bodies destress and begin to decrease cortisol levels.
