1. INTRODUCTION & CORE PHILOSOPHY
Fullscreen for Bonk.io ("we", "our", or "the extension") is an open, client-side browser extension designed to provide an enhanced, distraction-free fullscreen gaming experience on Bonk.io. We strongly believe in user privacy and data minimization. We do not collect, track, sell, or transmit any user data.
2. WHAT DATA DO WE COLLECT?
Short answer: None.
Detailed breakdown:
- Personal Information: We do NOT collect your name, email, credentials, IP address, location, or device identifiers.
- Game Data: We do NOT monitor, record, or store your in-game chat messages, scores, XP, replays, passwords, or game statistics.
- Browsing History: We do NOT monitor what websites you visit, how long you browse, or any tabs outside of the active Bonk.io game page.
- Analytics & Telemetry: We do NOT use Google Analytics, Sentry, Mixpanel, or any third-party tracking scripts. The extension contains zero tracking beacons or external API calls.
3. PERMISSIONS BREAKDOWN & WHY THEY ARE USED
To operate, the extension requests only the absolute minimum set of permissions necessary under Google Chrome's Manifest V3 specifications:
a) "storage" Permission:
- Purpose: Allows the extension to remember your customized settings across browser sessions.
- What is saved: Simple boolean and string flags such as your preferred fullscreen display mode ("windowed" or "native"), whether the "F" hotkey is enabled, and whether lobby auto-scaling is active.
- Where it is stored: All preferences are saved strictly within your browser's local profile (`chrome.storage.sync` / `chrome.storage.local`). They are never sent to external servers.
b) Host Permissions ("*://bonk.io/*", "*://*.bonk.io/*", "*://bonk2.io/*", "*://*.bonk2.io/*"):
- Purpose: Required to inject the content script (`content.js`) and styling (`content.css`) into the Bonk.io website and its embedded game frame (`#maingameframe`).
- What it does: Inserts the fullscreen toggle button into Bonk.io's top menu bar, detects the "F" keypress to toggle fullscreen mode, centers the game canvas, and scales the lobby interface.
- Scope: Restricted exclusively to Bonk.io domains. The extension has zero access to any other websites or web services.
4. ARE ALL OF THESE PERMISSIONS STRICTLY NECESSARY?
YES. Every requested permission is strictly required for the core functionality of the extension, and absolutely nothing more has been requested:
- Can we remove the "storage" permission?
If we removed "storage", every time you closed your browser or opened a new tab, your preferred settings (like Native vs Windowed Fullscreen, or your custom shortcut toggles) would reset back to defaults. The "storage" permission is necessary for basic quality of life and user preference persistence.
- Can we remove host permissions for Bonk.io?
No. Because Bonk.io renders its game interface and menus inside an HTML5 iframe element, a content script must be injected specifically into Bonk.io pages with `all_frames: true`. Without host permissions, the browser would block the extension from placing the fullscreen button into the game's top menu bar and from resizing the game canvas.
- Principle of Least Privilege:
We have deliberately avoided invasive permissions. Specifically:
* NO "<all_urls>" permission (we only interact with Bonk.io).
* NO "tabs" permission (we do not read your open tabs or history).
* NO "cookies" permission (we never touch your login session or auth cookies).
* NO "webRequest" permission (we do not intercept or inspect network traffic).
* NO remote scripts or external CDNs (all code is packaged locally within the extension).
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES & EXTERNAL SHARING
The extension does not communicate with any external servers, APIs, advertising networks, or third-party platforms. It operates 100% locally within your browser sandbox.
6. USER CONTROL & DATA DELETION
You maintain complete control over the extension at all times:
- You can change your display preferences directly in the extension popup menu.
- If you wish to delete all stored preferences, simply clear your browser's extension data or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling the extension completely removes all associated settings from your device.
7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If any future updates introduce new features, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly. Because we do not collect contact information, updates will be reflected in the extension's documentation and listing.
