I graduated from MIT in 2023 with a Ph.D. in Linguistics, with a thesis on the argument structure and properties of the passive, causative, and resultative constructions in Mandarin Chinese.
Prior to that, I received a B.Sc. in Psychology and an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Toronto.
My research interests are mainly in syntax and its interface with phonology, and particularly on argument structure, properties of phrasal movement — including the A/A'-distinction, successive-cyclicity, and (anti-)locality — syntactically-conditioned phonological processes and phonology-imposed conditions on syntactic structures. I work primarily on Mandarin, of which I am a native speaker.
Outside of linguistics, I like reading, hiking, listening to post-rock music, and learning to code.
Currently, I work as a machine learning software engineer at Gridspace.
