The cave of the annual ring

The plan as the tea-ceremony room on the site that has been already a main building.

I pile up squared lumber on the form of the house, and hollow out the inside in round form. Seeing from the outside, it seemed to have piled up wood simply, but like a making sculpture which turned over, I hollow out the inside. It seems to have crawled into the inside of the fish-shaped wooden drum, a floor and a wall and ceilings continue in this tea-ceremony room. Because I pile up wood one direction, the grain of wood of the annual ring changes by the curvature of the wall, and undulates gently and gently, as a whole, it become the hollow of the big tree. Like a squirrel curl up in a nest, I thought that it should have been the place that could feel at ease in the city.

To do a bond of the wood strongly, six wood surrounds it around one wood, and unite it with a screw, the roof possesses weathering and with tree like a long tile. Because I pile up wood, consider the settling of the nature direction, and all the screws bolt of the plumb direction has room.
