## Data FuelStreak Handles
FuelStreak may handle the following information when users use the related features:
- Profile and goal information, such as name or display name, age range, height, weight, activity level, fitness experience, goals, calorie targets, macro targets, step goals, sleep goals, and workout preferences.
- Nutrition and wellness information, such as foods, serving sizes, calories, nutrients, meal logs, water intake, fasting sessions, weight history, habits, streaks, and progress.
- Fitness information, such as workouts, exercises, sets, repetitions, weight, duration, estimated calories, active minutes, and steps.
- Health Connect information, limited to steps, exercise sessions, active calories burned, and sleep records that the user specifically permits FuelStreak to read.
- Camera and barcode information when the barcode scanner is used. FuelStreak processes the camera view to read a barcode and does not intentionally store barcode-camera photos or video.
- App and device information, such as a randomly generated FuelStreak install identifier, app version, platform, feature settings, subscription entitlement, and diagnostic error details.
- Friend challenge information, such as a display name, challenge code, selected challenge metric, and aggregated progress the user chooses to share with challenge participants.
- Purchase information, such as product identifier, subscription status, and entitlement status. FuelStreak does not receive or store full payment-card details.
- Advertising and consent information processed by Google Mobile Ads for users of the ad-supported free plan. Depending on consent and regional rules, Google may process advertising identifiers, device information, app interactions, diagnostics, IP-derived approximate location, and ad-performance information. Premium users do not initialize the advertising SDK while Premium access is active.
FuelStreak does not request precise location, contacts, SMS messages, or phone-call data.
## Health Connect Data
Health Connect access is optional and begins only after the user chooses to connect and grants Android permissions. FuelStreak currently requests read-only access to:
- Steps, to show daily totals, history, step goals, and user-selected step challenges.
- Exercise sessions, to import workout history and support training progress.
- Active calories burned, to show activity summaries and estimated energy expenditure.
- Sleep records, to show sleep duration, history, recovery information, and sleep goals.
FuelStreak does not read Health Connect data for advertising, credit decisions, insurance decisions, data brokerage, or unrelated purposes. FuelStreak does not sell Health Connect data. Raw Health Connect records are not shown to advertisers or food-data providers.
When Health Connect data is imported, the resulting step totals, sleep durations, workout entries, or active-calorie values may be saved in the FuelStreak log on the device and included in the encrypted cloud backup described below. The backup is associated with a random FuelStreak install identifier, not the user's Google or Samsung account credentials.
Users can review or revoke FuelStreak's Health Connect permissions from FuelStreak's Connected Health screen or Android's Health Connect settings. Revoking access stops future reads. It does not automatically remove values already imported into FuelStreak. Those copies can be removed using the deletion process below. Deleting data from FuelStreak does not delete the original records held by Health Connect or the app that originally created them.
## How Data Is Used
FuelStreak uses data to:
- Operate food, nutrition, water, fasting, sleep, weight, workout, and step tracking.
- Calculate and display goals, remaining calories and macros, trends, streaks, and progress history.
- Import user-approved Health Connect information and keep the in-app log current.
- Save an account-free cloud backup and synchronize friend challenge progress.
- Search food databases, resolve barcodes, and review user-submitted barcode corrections.
- Verify Premium access, process subscription status, restore purchases, and keep Premium ad-free.
- Display ads to eligible free-plan users after applicable consent choices.
- Diagnose crashes, investigate bug reports, protect the service, and improve reliability.
- Respond to privacy, support, and data deletion requests.
## Where Data Is Stored
FuelStreak stores the main diary and progress record locally on the user's Android device. FuelStreak also sends an account-free backup of app state to its server when online. This backup can include profile and goal settings, food logs, water logs, sleep logs, step logs, weight logs, fasting history, workout logs, Health Connect values imported into those logs, challenge settings, and app progress. The backup is associated with a random install identifier.
FuelStreak uses HTTPS/TLS for data sent between the app and its server. Backend records are stored using Supabase, and the server is hosted using Render. Access to backend data is limited through server credentials and database access controls. Sensitive service-role credentials are kept on the server and are not embedded in the mobile app.
No method of electronic storage is completely risk-free, but FuelStreak uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal and sensitive data.
## Service Providers and Sharing
FuelStreak does not sell personal data or health data. Data is disclosed only as needed to provide requested features, comply with law, protect users and the service, or process a user-authorized challenge. Service providers may include:
- Google Health Connect, for user-controlled Android health-data access.
- Supabase and Render, for cloud backup, challenge synchronization, diagnostics, and backend hosting.
- Google Play Billing and RevenueCat, for subscription purchase, entitlement verification, and restoration.
- Google Mobile Ads, for consent management and advertising to eligible free-plan users. Health Connect data, food logs, weight, sleep, and workout details are not provided for ad targeting.
- USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts, the Canadian Nutrient File, and the UK Composition of Foods Integrated Dataset, for nutrition and barcode information. FuelStreak does not send a user's health history to these food-data providers.
When a user joins a friend challenge, FuelStreak may share the user's display name and aggregated progress for the selected challenge metric with other participants in that challenge. FuelStreak does not share the user's complete diary or raw Health Connect records with friends.
These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. FuelStreak may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect rights and safety.
## Data Retention
FuelStreak follows these retention practices:
- Data stored locally remains on the device until the user edits it, uses Reset app data, clears FuelStreak's Android storage, or uninstalls the app.
- The latest cloud backup and its random install identifier are retained while FuelStreak is in active use and for no more than 24 months after the last successful sync, unless the user requests earlier deletion.
- Crash and diagnostic reports are retained for no more than 12 months, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary to investigate an active security, fraud, or reliability issue.
- Reporter-linked barcode correction submissions are retained for no more than 24 months. Verified, non-personal product and nutrition information may be kept after the reporter identifier is removed.
- FuelStreak's cached Premium entitlement record is retained while the subscription is active and for no more than 24 months after it becomes inactive. Google Play and RevenueCat may retain transaction records under their own legal, financial, and fraud-prevention obligations.
- A deletion request is processed within 30 days after FuelStreak has enough information to identify the relevant installation. A limited record of the request may be retained when required to document compliance or resolve fraud, billing, security, or legal obligations.
## Data Deletion and User Controls
FuelStreak does not require a traditional username-and-password account. Users can delete data as follows:
1. To erase FuelStreak data stored on the phone, open FuelStreak, go to More, choose Settings, select Reset app data, and confirm Reset app. Users may also clear FuelStreak's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app.
2. To request deletion of FuelStreak cloud backups, diagnostic reports, challenge records, reporter-linked barcode submissions, and cached entitlement records, open More, choose Report an issue, enter "Delete my FuelStreak cloud data," and send the request. This in-app request includes the random install identifier needed to locate the records.
3. Users may also email fuelstreak27@gmail.com with the subject "FuelStreak Data Deletion." FuelStreak may reply with steps to confirm the affected installation because the app does not require an email account.
4. To delete or manage original Health Connect records, use Android's Health Connect settings and, when applicable, the source app such as Samsung Health or Fitbit.
5. Canceling a subscription does not itself delete app data. Google Play subscriptions can be canceled through Google Play, while FuelStreak data can be deleted using the steps above.
FuelStreak will confirm completion using the available request channel when possible. Deleting FuelStreak cloud data does not automatically delete records independently retained by Google Play, RevenueCat, Health Connect, an originating health app, or another service provider.
## User Choices
Users can choose whether to grant camera, activity-recognition, notification, and Health Connect permissions; whether to join friend challenges; whether to purchase Premium; and, where required, their advertising consent choices. Permissions can be changed in FuelStreak or Android settings. Ad privacy choices are available from FuelStreak Settings.
## Children
FuelStreak is intended for users age 18 and older and is not directed to children. FuelStreak does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
## Changes to This Policy
FuelStreak may update this policy when its features, providers, legal obligations, or data practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the app or Google Play when appropriate.
