Best Way to Cook Glutinous Rice with a Healthy Recipe
Glutinous rice is very popular rice in some part of Bangladesh. Glutinous rice is known as Sticky Rice, because it becomes sticky when cooked. It is also called “sweet Rice” because of its taste. It has a sweeter taste than regular white rice, which is why it works so well in dessert recipe. But mainly, it is prized for its chewy and sticky texture.
We made something interesting way to cook Sticky Rice with fruits. This makes sticky rice more enjoyable to eat and also make healthier. Sticky rice has a less nutritious value than regular rice, but we make it a nutritious and also delicious.
Ingredients:
1. Glutinous Rice/Sticky Rice, 2. Coconut meat, 3. Peanuts 4. Milk, 5. Different mix fruits. 6. Banana leaves/Aluminum Foil.
Recipe and Directions:
Step 1
In a large bowl, sift together the sticky rice, small size chopped coconut meat, small amount of milk, and mix fruits and mix it properly. No need to add sugar as the rice taste sweet when cooked.
Step 2
Now, make small pieces of the mixed rice and cover with banana leave for traditional looks or use aluminum foil instead. Now, bind the cover with stick or small thread.
Step 3
Now, Boil the rice without the contract with the water for 45-60 min, or cook it on a microwave. After being cooked, serve it when hot.
Nutritional Value
Sticky rice is less nutritious than regular rice, but it’s rich in proteins, fiber and zinc. Milk and coconut meat added in sticky rice make the rice nutritious. Fruits mixed in the rice give us a fruity flavor and make it much healthier.
