Restorative Practice Center-

  • A place in the school for students who need additional opportunities to develop self-control
  • Immediate consequence of separation from classroom peers
  • Time period can be a single class period to 10 days depending on behavior
  • Continue academic curriculum
  • Build key skills to enhance social, emotional, and behavioral functions
  • Receive shorts term and long term support

A Restorative Approach-

  • Encourage students to understand impact/consequence of their action
  • Provides opportunity to share personal experience
  • Requires accountability for their actions
  • Encourages respect/empathy
  • Problem solving opportunities

Schedule-

8:00am ~ Students are picked up from classroom

8:10-8:40am ~ Discovery-Counseling Session (small group counseling, focusing on positive behavior, anger management, pro-social skills development etc)

8:40 - 9:40am ~ Academic Studies- Students complete ELA assignment provided by the teacher

9:40-10:40am ~ Academic Studies- Students complete Math assignments provided by the teacher

10:40-11:40am ~ Academic Studies - Students complete Science assignments provided by the teachers

11:40-12:05pm ~ Lunch

12:10- 12:40pm ~ Student Reflection-students will spend time reflecting on their habits, behaviors and decision making process

12:40-1:40pm ~ Academic Studies - Students complete Social Studies assignments provided by the teacher

1:40-1:55pm ~ Student Reflection

1:55-2:00 pm ~ Dismissal
