Subdivisions

The Los Santos Police Department Patrol Division serves as the frontline of law enforcement in Los Santos, providing 24/7 coverage across the city. Officers in this division respond to emergency calls, conduct traffic stops, enforce local laws, and maintain a visible presence to deter crime. As the largest and most active division in the department, Patrol plays a critical role in ensuring public safety and building community trust.

The LSPD SWAT Division is an elite tactical unit responsible for handling high-risk situations such as armed standoffs, hostage rescues, and counter-terrorism operations. The division includes specialized roles such as SWAT Medics, who provide life-saving medical support during active operations, and the Bomb Squad, trained to safely identify, disarm, and dispose of explosive threats. Together, these units ensure a rapid, coordinated response to the city’s most dangerous and complex incidents.

The LSPD Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is responsible for solving serious crimes through detailed case work, evidence collection, and suspect interviews. Detectives in this division specialize in major offenses such as homicide, robbery, assault, and organized crime. Working closely with patrol units and forensic teams, the CID is committed to bringing criminals to justice and uncovering the truth behind complex cases.

The LSPD Traffic Enforcement Unit is dedicated to maintaining road safety throughout the city by enforcing traffic laws, conducting DUI checkpoints, investigating collisions, and managing traffic flow during major events. Officers in this unit are specially trained to identify reckless driving, street racing, and other dangerous behaviors to ensure the safety of all motorists and pedestrians in Los Santos.

The LSPD K9 Division utilizes highly trained police dogs and handlers to support a wide range of law enforcement operations. These K9 teams specialize in suspect tracking, narcotics and explosives detection, building searches, and crowd control. Working side by side with officers, the K9 units enhance the department’s ability to locate evidence, apprehend suspects, and keep the streets of Los Santos safe.

The LSPD Field Training Officer (FTO) Program is responsible for mentoring and evaluating new police recruits during their transition from the academy to active duty. Experienced officers serve as FTOs, providing hands-on training, guidance, and performance assessments to ensure recruits develop the skills, judgment, and professionalism required to serve the city of Los Santos effectively and safely.
