Privacy Policy for Frontend Technical Interview

Frontend Technical Interview ("the app," "we," "us," or "our") is developed and maintained by Ishant Chandna. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and your choices — in plain terms, without legal filler you don't need.

Information We Do NOT Collect

To be upfront: this app does not require an account, does not have a login or sign-up of any kind, and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifying information through the app itself. We do not collect your location, do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or photos, and we do not display ads or use advertising identifiers of any kind.

Information Collected Automatically

The app uses Firebase (a Google service) for two purposes, both of which involve only anonymous, non-personal technical data:

Crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics). If the app crashes or encounters an error, Crashlytics automatically collects technical diagnostic information to help us fix the problem — this includes your device model, operating system version, app version, a stack trace of what the app was doing at the time of the crash, and an anonymous installation identifier generated by Firebase for your specific install of the app. This identifier is not tied to your name, email, or any other personal account, since the app has no accounts.

Remote configuration (Firebase Remote Config). The app checks in with Firebase to see whether a newer version is available, using the same anonymous installation identifier described above. No personal information is sent as part of this check.

Information Stored Only On Your Device

Your progress in the app — which questions you've marked complete, which ones you've bookmarked, and your theme preference — is stored locally on your device only. This data is never transmitted to us, to Firebase, or to any server. We have no access to it, no copy of it, and no way to see it. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes this data.

Third-Party Services

Some questions in the app include an optional "Practice on LeetCode" link that opens LeetCode's website in your device's browser. This is a standard external link — we don't send LeetCode any information about you, and once you leave the app, LeetCode's own privacy policy governs how they handle your data.

The app's crash reporting and remote configuration features are powered by Google Firebase. Google's handling of the technical data described above is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase's terms.

Advertising

This app does not contain ads, does not use any advertising SDKs, and does not collect or use the Android Advertising ID.

Children's Privacy

This app is intended for developers preparing for technical job interviews and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us at the email below and we'll address it.

Data Retention

Crash and diagnostic data collected via Firebase Crashlytics is retained according to Google Firebase's standard retention policies. Since the app has no user accounts, there is no account data to retain or delete — the only personal data footprint is the progress information stored locally on your own device, which you control directly by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited technical data described in this policy, relying on Google Firebase's security infrastructure for crash reporting and remote configuration. That said, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app changes. Any updates will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
