The enterprise technology industry continues to evolve as organizations rely on intelligent systems to streamline operations, improve procurement strategies, and drive digital transformation.
Through my experiences across global companies and my time working in enterprise software, the story of Chris Salis SAP reflects how technology and strategic thinking can transform organizations.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with several global organizations where procurement strategy, operational excellence, and digital transformation played a major role.
Before becoming widely associated with Chris Salis SAP, I gained valuable experience at companies such as Adecco Employment Services, Gap Inc., eBay, and Business Objects.
At Adecco Employment Services, I held positions such as IT Procurement Manager, Senior IT Buyer, and Strategic Sourcing Manager. During this time, I managed the IT procurement program supporting global corporate operations and nearly 700 branch locations. My work involved overseeing supplier selection, negotiating contracts, and strengthening relationships with strategic vendors.
After my tenure at Adecco, I continued developing my expertise in procurement and operational strategy by working with other global organizations.
At Gap Inc., I served as Manager of Strategic Sourcing where my focus was improving procurement efficiency and strengthening vendor partnerships. The retail environment required fast decision making and strategic supplier management, which helped expand my operational leadership skills.
Later, I joined eBay as Manager of Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and Operational Excellence. My work there focused on streamlining procurement processes and improving operational efficiency across departments.
In 2006, I joined Business Objects, a company specializing in business intelligence and enterprise software solutions. This role became a pivotal step toward my eventual work in Chris Salis SAP leadership.
At Business Objects, I held several leadership positions including Senior Manager of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing, Senior Director of Global Go-to-Market Process and Product Management, and Executive Director and Chief of Staff for the Office of the CEO.
During this time, I worked closely with executive leadership to help establish priorities for SAP’s analytics and technology portfolio. I also managed important aspects of the company’s ecosystem partnerships and partner organization operations.
In 2010, I joined SAP as Vice President and Head of Global Sales for SAP’s Line of Business Solutions for Procurement. This marked the official beginning of the Chris Salis SAP leadership journey.
My role focused on helping organizations adopt digital procurement solutions while improving operational efficiency through enterprise software. Over time, I progressed into additional leadership roles including Global Vice President and General Manager for Line of Business Solutions for Procurement and later Global Vice President and Head of Portfolio for SAP’s Go-to-Market strategy.
During my time in leadership roles at SAP, I had the opportunity to contribute to several initiatives that significantly impacted the company’s growth and strategy.
Through strategic improvements, we reduced the average time required for new innovations to generate revenue from twelve months to just ninety days.
Other notable achievements during the Chris Salis SAP phase included achieving the highest line-of-business quota during 2010 and 2011, generating four times growth in SaaS revenue, and contributing to a three hundred percent revenue increase in 2011.
One of the most significant strategic developments during my time at SAP involved the expansion of the procurement ecosystem that ultimately led to the acquisition of Ariba for 4.3 billion dollars in 2012.
The Chris Salis SAP leadership approach emphasized strategic thinking, strong collaboration across teams, and a focus on delivering measurable results.
After my time at SAP, I transitioned into advisory roles where I could apply my enterprise experience to help other organizations grow.
As Managing Partner at Catapuult Consulting, I began working with enterprises and startups on procurement strategy, spend management optimization, and SaaS business growth.
Beyond consulting and business leadership, I have also focused on initiatives that create social impact.
In 2022, I co-founded the Secure Our Schools Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving school safety through advanced technology solutions.
Through these initiatives, we aim to support safer learning environments for more than 250,000 students across multiple schools.
My career has always been centered on innovation, leadership, and meaningful impact. Whether through enterprise technology, consulting, or nonprofit initiatives, the journey of Chris Salis SAP continues to be guided by the goal of helping organizations grow while making a positive difference in the world.
