The Parent Advisory Council (P.A.C.) is the official voice of parents at the school. The School Act gives parents and guardians an opportunity to be involved and make a difference in the school community. Through its elected, volunteer members, the PAC can share ideas and advice with the school board, principal and staff on any matters that affect students and their education.
All parents and guardians of students registered at Fraser River Middle School are able to participate and are members of the FRMS PAC.
The PAC plays an important role at Fraser River Middle School.
Without a PAC, students and teachers would miss out on the provincial Gaming Grant, which in past years has helped fund field trips, purchase sports equipment, provide hot dog lunches on Sports Day, and celebrate our Grade 8 students at year-end, just to name a few.
We also raise funds throughout the year to support initiatives that are not covered under the Gaming Grant guidelines.
The FRMS PAC must abide by its Constitution and Bylaws and the School Act. PACs are NOT required to register as a non-profit or under the BC Societies Act.
There are many ways you can help and get involved.
Attend our PAC meetings on the first Monday of the month. Please see our meeting schedule here.
Volunteer your skills and talents by getting involved as an executive. For information about the roles, you can review it here.
Volunteer your time at school events where PAC is participating; you can help as little or as much as you like.
Support our fundraising efforts.
Give us your feedback and ideas for the benefit of all FRMS students.
