No matter where you are, you can check the energy consumption data of your FRITZ! Smart Home in real time on myfritz.net. You can analyze and permanently store the data. This makes it easy to see where you have power guzzlers in your home. Already available for all current FRITZ! products with FRITZ!OS 7.57.

Note when using multiple FRITZ!Boxes: only one FRITZ!Box can and must play the role of the "Mesh Master". In the default setting, this is the Box with the direct connection to the Internet. You can adjust the role of a FRITZ!Box within the mesh network over the support page (fritz.box/support.lua).

I installed OpenWrt on my FRITZ!Box 7530 but now I want to go back to the OEM firmware (FRITZ!OS). Unfortunately, I did not make a backup before installing OpenWrt. I was thinking about doing the following on the FTP of the bootloader, but I am worried about potentially bricking the device:

Thanks for the quick reply, @slh, it pointed me in the right direction! Here is the complete solution of how to restore the OEM firmware if recovery tool fails because your router has been customised by your ISP (in my case this is Zen in the UK):

I have a Lovelace card on which I display the uptime, firmware versions and other information of my routers and switches. Recently, there is a sensor to query the uptime of the FRITZ!Box, but I cannot find a way to determine the FRITZ!OS version. However, on the device overview page of the AVM FRITZ!Box Tools integration, the version is displayed so that it can apparently be queried.

I would be very pleased to have a sensor or an attribute with the FRITZ!OS version.

In case you are talking about sourceforge: No, it was not since I do not know about a special "Fritz!Box" forum, should I?

There a lots of Fritz!Box discussions out there in the wild, but don't have issues with keepass. Since it's a keepass / fritz issue I did choose the discussion started by Martin here.

It's hard to get/request support from AVM since there seems to be no issue w/o using keepass: NAS share and the database file are fine as long as it is accessed on file level (windows explorer, lanman, cmd, etc.). Problem is restricted to accessing database file from keepass.

Unfortunately that's what I want.

In my case I found that for accessing the keepass2 database file on the fritz.nas share in Windows 10 - 1909, I need to use the attached command file.

At the same time, I don't have keepass/fritz.box issues in Windows 10 - 1903.

My AVM support ticket is still open ...

Very interesting... We also have a similar issue. We are adding an MX 67 on our spokes that goes over AutoVPN to our DC and it only happened a few times in the beginning, but now with every migration of adding an MX 67 to a spoke for SD-WAN, we need to reboot our MX.

We are also connecting to a Fritzbox and most of the time it is the 7590. We just passed the 100 mark for migrations, but our issue is with the CAP WAP traffic of Cisco AP's that do not want to show up on WLC (Flex Connect) and the only option at the moment to fix this is to reboot MX then it is fixed.

We do have an open case with Meraki and they have no clue why it is, but we can see that the UDP port is changed when it comes back to the spoke. I am going to check the firmware of the Fritzbox and see if this is related.

Hi, i've started to install Arch Linux on my system and had also some problems setting up my wlan0 interface. I'm using the archlinux-2012.08.04-dual.iso Image and in the relating installation shell (i guess its zsh) its currently not possible to active the network interface due to some "could not find firmware" issues. I compared the kernel module configuration with another working Ubuntu installation, where my wlan usb stick works and could manage to solve it.

Last but not least it couldn't find the relevant firmware that is located in /lib/firmware/carl9170/carl9170-1.fw

On Ubuntu this file has another location. Therefore i copy it to this place.

I was following all described instructions, firmware was installed from AUR package, later I've replaced it with one from

Old modules are blacklisted and carl9170 was not loading automaticly, so I've included it into /etc/modules-load.d/load.conf

In my setup, I have a 7590AX and a 7490. The 7590AX is my main router and Mesh Master, and I used the 7490 as a Mesh Repeater. I've updated the 7490 (and only the 7490) to the Fritz!Lab 7.51 firmware, leaving the 7590AX as the stock 7.31 firmware.

I have a Fritz!Box 7390 I bought while living in Berlin and would like to switch it to English. I've tried using the Recovery Tool, but it rejects updating the device. How can I update the device to the latest International firmware?

Here is the FTP archive and I am pointing to a firmware for router 7330, it shows an English firmware. There is one more piece of information to add here, in Germany we have Annex B which means ISDN and DSL can be on the same line simultaneously, most of the rest of the world is Annex A. You need to adjust the Annex type to be able to connect to your DSL company. Most international firmware has an option to change the Annex.

Please report the problems also to fritz. At the end it seems that their software update causes issues under certain circumstances (We have fritz!boxes running with 7.5x without problems too), which is something we might not be able to debug.

If it still fails, I suggest you report the problem directly to the manufacturer Nuki, who will eventually be able to develop and release a new beta version or an official firmware update more compatible with FRITZ!OS 7.50.

@Juergen

Same smartlock.

I confirm, it is super stable but because while I had installed the 7.50 firmware and was testing with the various routers at my disposal, I was forced to use the Nuki bridge due to the impossibility of establishing the connection even for a single moment. I then reverted to firmware 7.31 and directly reconnected the smartlock pro to wifi.

Download the files corresponding to your flash chip. Set your IP address statically to 192.168.178.20/24 and reboot the router. When the ethernet interface comes up after a few seconds, ftp 192.168.178.1 and upload the firmware as documented by OpenWRT:

1) you only have ~30 Seconds to finish the flashing as some Bootloaders do a shutdown or hard-reset after this limit.

2)The DSL Sync Speed is much better if you extract the DSL Firmware from the 3370 or even 7490 firmware-image and use this one.

today morning i run the firmware update on my fritzbox 7590 to version 7.50. After that all of my certs in my apache config recognized as self-signed and nothing works anymore for all of my sub domains.

the mystery with the advancedsettings.xml file has not been solved. Eventually I had to delete it, for everything to work. Otherwise most of my video files were just not playable. The system would even hang some times with that file in place. I tried various versions of it without success. Still makes me wonder how come the .xml file did not cause problems with the current / older stable firmware of the router, but brings up huge issues with the new BETA firmwares (that will become official soon).

Back in the time when AirVPN offered just one connection at a time many people were forced to use their routers to connect to AirVPN if they wanted all of their devices to use the benefits of a VPN connection. I wanted to use it as a central point for AirVPN access - all devices should use it. The only drawback: It doesn't have OpenVPN installed. There is a way to enable it with Freetz, a replacement firmware for nearly every Fritz!Box router available which enables you to install additional software (or remove AVM's official ones). As a result, I wrote a guide.

Now you will download the most recent development version of Freetz. This is important since the latest stable does not support the newest firmware images. Further, it doesn't include the most recent versions of OpenVPN and OpenSSL. The command to do so is

After that go to your Fritz!Box web interface, login and navigate to the firmware update option. It depends on your model where to find it exactly, but it's always somewhere in the System tab. Additionally, you may need to switch to Expert mode to enable the option to upload an image from your computer. In all cases, you will be asked to backup your current settings (newer routers will force you to do so). I recommend doing so.

Based on the Freetz patch list (german) this is a listing of all the things you can remove from the original firmware to free up some space for other packages. The removal patches can be found in the menuconfig's main menu. If your model doesn't support all of them, the missing ones will be hidden.

hi, i have a router-modem-ap fritzbox 3490. I try PureVPN service but it isn't compatible with my router. On flashrouter they told me that with fritzbox vpnservice aren't possible and that the only thing to do is to manage vpn connection with a flashrouter under my fritzbox: internet - fritzbox - flashrouter - mydevices. Then some user advice me about this discussion and of the possibility to use openvpn with my fritzbox. ff782bc1db
