Fritz Box Fon Wlan 7390 Firmware Download Fix

I have a Fritz!Box 7390 I bought while living in Berlin and would like to switch it to English. I've tried using the Recovery Tool, but it rejects updating the device. How can I update the device to the latest International firmware?

Does anyone have some old firmware that could be used to downgrade the version in order to restore its bridge mode function?

You can download it from -support/hardware/avm/FRITZ!Box_7390/firmware/ and the recovery utility version of the firmware you want from there. Remember to disable your firewalls and connect the PC to LAN port one when using the recovery utility.

Thank you. I want to know it only to be safe i could go back if i need the box' dsl-part. In the moment i'm happy with it under open-wrt. Use it as firewall behind a fritzbox 7390 for a separate network.

If you have a real static public IPv4 address, one could on newer firmware (06.01+) also sett up a 6in4 tunnel. See Fritz!Box 7390 6in4 for details.Note though that a heartbeat tunnel is a 6in4 tunnel with some very lightweight signalling of your current IPv4 address. As such, using heartbeat and configuration using TIC is very easy and works with dynamic IPv4 addresses; this while a static 6in4 tunnel is static and thus does not work for long with dynamic addresses.

Additionally, you need either a Fritz!Box 7270, 7240 or 7390 with Firmware version at least 54.04.81-17599 (international version) or 74.04.86 (german version) (available as of Sep, 16th 2010).Firmware xx.04.86 isn't yet available for the international version, but you can get the FRITZ! Lab IPv6 firmware from The AVM service site.
