Devourer was not created from nothing. He was taken.
Long before he was bound to the manor, Devourer was a Reaper, a being drawn to endings rather than fear. When Mr. Fright demanded something more violent, something that could be controlled, Dr. Kratzenberg turned his attention to what could be broken.
The Reaper was captured, and the formula was introduced.
Kratzenberg did not enhance Devourer. He reduced him. Thought was stripped away, memory burned down to a single surviving instinct. Hunger.
Devourer was never meant to be intelligent. He was designed to consume what could not be captured.
The modified formula twisted his purpose, bending him to Mr. Fright’s will. Where a Reaper once waited, Devourer now reacts. He feeds on motion, sound, and panic. The more guests struggle, the stronger his need becomes.
Walls bear deep claw marks where he has tested the limits of his containment, remnants of what he once was fighting against what he has become. He remembers hunger more than pain. He remembers the need long after the reason is gone.
