Mavet was created when fire was infused into the monster formula, an experiment meant to bend destruction into obedience. The subject survived, but the transformation was catastrophic. Flesh was burned away, leaving behind a skull reforged by flame.
Though fire no longer consumes him, it marked him permanently. Mavet learned to retreat into darkness, not out of fear, but control. Light reminds him of the pain of his creation and he uses that memory to his advantage.
Witnesses report sudden flashes of illumination, just long enough to reveal his burning skull and glowing eyes. The moment fear sets in, Mavet vanishes again, leaving only heat and silence behind.
Rather than creating fear, MAvet absorbs it. The closer someone draws, the heavier the air becomes. Whispers form where no mouth is visible. Footsteps echo without a source. The dark itself seems to listen.
Mavet moves slowly, savoring the moment. He studies reactions, pauses between words, the way panic changes breathing. By the time he reveals himself, fear has already taken root and grown strong.
Mavet is aware of what he has become. And he does not resent it.
