Khaalida is a Quirlicorn who rose to the title of Deity through her various adventures. When she was born, a prophecy was given that one day she would be queen, and a wonderful queen with many lands. That prophecy fueled her younger years, leading her down her path. She currently rules happily, but her adventure is not quite done....
Khaalida can normally be found in L087, where her capitol city of Queensbreak rests.
The Lands of Espeor
L087: The first land of Espeor, in which the Capitol city of Queensbreak rests. Khaalida rules here with her family, and calls it home. As such, it is considered the Capitol province of the Realm. L087 has a healthy river running down its middle, and clean fresh mountain air. With its mountain forests and lush valleys, Espeor is a perfect place for exploration, a nice flight, or swimming in the clean clear river.
The Capitol City, where the main market and majority of activity happens. The Home of the Queen and her Court.
A shining city made of sparkling rocks and gemstones. The reflection of the gems within the buildings allows for a beautiful rainbow of color no matter the time of day. Nestled next to a river and between the mountains, Queensbreak has plenty of access to the world around them.
A Southern Port Town, with a focus on commerce. A lot of the trade in Espeor's Capitol comes through Edgewater first.
A relatively clean town, but with the underlying scent of fish. The majority of citizens are traders, who use the river to travel to and fro with their goods. Paved roads lead to tidy, near identical shops on the main street. The majority of the town is warehouses however, and there are not many who permanently call this town their home.
The House of Wind is an interesting ruin discovered in the early exploration of Espeor. It is one of the few remains of those who may have lived there.
A crumbling tower with no obvious entrance at the bottom. It is rumored to have been an aerie of sorts for winged Equines to rest for the night. It lies in the deep wilds to the north of Queensbreak.
There are two towns known as Oakwald, one to the East, one to the West, separated by the river between. The close knit towns lay buried in the forest, their residents honoring it and living within the forest in harmony with the land.
It is rumored the original Oakwald was started by two lovers who ran away together. No one knows why they split, or how long ago it was, but both Oakwald's are buried within nature, barely able to be separated from the surrounding forest. The trees meld with the buildings, built to be one with the natural world. Sometimes you don't even know you are in Oakwald until you come across a resident.
A Small town in the north of the territory. A secretive town, who leans to the more devout side. All are welcomed to be worshipped here... as long as you are worshipping something.
There are no paved streets in Northwatch. From the outside it looks a bit run down. The majority of large buildings are temples to the deities. Nearly every Equine in the town is devout in some way, and it is looked down on if you don't worship at least one of the deities.
The furthest town to the west in the realm, where a lot of land based trade comes through, as well as messengers. The equines of Faland tend to be more hardened and sturdy, for they are the ones who make the land trip across the mountains to supply West Oakwald as well as bringing goods to Edgewater.
A somewhat drab town from the outside, but inside the buildings is bustling with life. Two tall towers rest in the village, an easy place for a winged equine to land and deliver messages, or pick up a new delivery.
L088: The second land of Espeor, and one still unexplored compared to L087. Much of it is tangled woodlands, with high mountains rising between.
Haven is the single town of L088, planted somewhat in the middle of the land. Roads lead from L087, then north to L095. The town serves as a resting point for travels, harboring several inns and small stores to replace what might have run out or been lost.
Haven is a small cluster of buildings surrounded by a large wooden wall. Towers mark its four corners, for those who wish to peer out into the land. Safety came first when Haven was constructed, since most of the land is wild and untamed.
L095: The seaport of Espeor rests here, along with a bustling trade city. The main inhabitable lands rest in a valley carved between two mountain ranges.
Resting near the sandy beaches, Triemme is a great port town with high walls to fend off sea attacks. The port stretches along the coast, a constant source of trade and commerce. Trade routes stretch through the valley to connect to other parts of Espeor.
Triemme is a city made of grey stone, with high thick walls and stone streets. Large gates are at the ready at the entrances, prepared to close in time of strife. But on most days, the gates are open, welcoming all to the wide streets and open markets. There are constantly new faces in Triemme, and is a port where many seafaring equines may stop for a night on dry land, or to trade their goods. The permanent residents tend to stick together, but a new face with tales of lands beyond is always welcome.
Ravenspire is a small village who survives off the trade route that passes there. It is small, but proves a place to rest and a nice meal for traders or travelers who follow the path through the village.
The few residents of Ravenspire barter for 75% of what they need, and what they don't barter for they find themselves. They are a hardy bunch, normally gruff in nature, who don't like living too close to civilization. Most residences are spread out, with only a tavern and an inn on the main street.
The Sanctuary is a safe space for any equine in need. A contingent of healers reside there, and offer their services to any who may reach them. Healers from around Espeor may escort their patients there for further healing and rest. It is a place to stay, with a warm fire and a roof over your head no matter the occasion. Many of the healers there were trained by Sirona, of Torre.
Plants grow up around the Sanctuary, nestled deep within the forest. There is a calming air around their gray walls, worn and weathered. A kind word or simple reassurance is never far away. The Sanctuary is the perfect escape from the chaos of the world.
L103 is holy land, gifted to Khaalida upon reaching deity status. It is a peaceful place with warm breezes, calm wildlife, and in general a serene and calm air.
Many lands are still waiting to be explored and their secrets uncovered. These include L124, L172, L194, L224, L225, L229, and L237.
The Queen of Espeor, and the Keeper of Valora. Khaalida had a destiny to be Queen, as told by a seer upon her birth. Because of this, her whole life was geared around becoming a Queen. She achieved her first parcel of land at a young age, and many followed quickly behind. She, alongside her consort Aurelion, grew the lands and nurtured them, eventually ending in the founding of the Espeorian Alliance. After a large fight, Aurelion left her side, but Khaalida continues to rule with the support of her family and their children.
Khaaleesi is the first born, daughter of Khaalida, and First Princess of Espeor. Much of her time is spent in Triemme, overseeing the city as its governor, and attending to issues surrounding the city. She travels between Queensbreak and Triemme quite often. She is still a bit wild at heart, but has grown into a proper princess of Espeor.
Koa is the second born, son of Khaalida, and First Prince of Espeor. A bright mind, he spends most of his time in study. He prefers to stay in the city, having long grown past the games and adventures with his twin, Khaaleesi, of their youth. He is the mind behind most of the codified laws, and having an official system of government and most of the verbage of the alliance.
Signe is the third born, daughter of Khaalida, and Second Princess of Espeor. She is an adventurous soul, and travels the land as a mixture of Guard and liason between the people and their Queen. An accident in her youth left a scar over her right eye, and the vision in that eye is significantly weaker, but it does not slow her down.
Zehar is the fourth born, son of Khaalida, and Second Prince of Espeor. He is more at home on the road than dealing with politics, and works closely with his elder sister Signe to ensure all is well within the land. Zehar fancies himself a Guard, and while he is trained, he is not particularly disciplined.
Avia's true love is Eira of Snowhaven, but she isn't built for weather that cold. Instead, she lives in Espeor and makes her living singing at the tavern and taking care of her daughters.
Eliora, daughter of Avia, lives with her mother. She is still young and figuring out what she wants to do with her life. Every Equinox she meets her twin sister Leora (of Snowhaven) for a few short weeks, before returning to Espeor.
Caelus is a genius when it comes to crafting. Strange contraptions, new inventions, you name it! It is somewhat common knowledge that he studied at the Silver and Gold Towers of Arcanum in Torre before finding himself a home in Queensbreak.
Meadowlark uses her ability to speak with animals to her advantage, and helps manage the wild animals around the city of Queensbreak. If ever an issue arises, she is there. Most of the time she is in the wilds surrounding the city, immersed in nature, even though she keeps a residence in the city.
Feriae functions as the Village Head for Haven. While Signe and Zehar are the royal presence, it is Ferisae who deals with much of the day to day when it comes to running the village and providing for the Quirlicorns who live there.
Fenrin works as a guide in Haven, taking those who wish to travel between the lands safely from one area to the next. As much of Haven is wild, having a guide is always a good idea.
Embelia works as the Tavern keeper in Haven. Most of her job is really spent just caring for those who pass through, as well as ensuring they have a safe place to sleep and food in their bellies.
Odelle is musically gifted, but still learning. She sings at the campfire or tavern in Haven some nights. You can often hear her practicing in her room, since shes not quite confident in herself yet.
Cyrenx works as a guide in Haven, specializing in the deep woods. He is an expert at keeping his way in the tall trees.
Zorya is who you want on your side if you are making the trek from Haven to Triemme. She has traveled the way many times, guiding shipments for the town, as well as travellers.
Kenopsia goes unnoticed in the wilds due to well... both being green and partially transparent. He gathers a lot of the harder to find supplies for the town, as well as certain special requests that come his way.
While Melione is also a Mystic, she finds joy in travelling and serves as the Royal Messenger for Khaalida. Between her mental prowess as a Mountains Mystic, and her love for adventure, she gets her jobs done well.
Verity got stuck with Valdis on his failed excuse for land quests. Originally from a very secluded herd in the mountains, she had a very sequestered up brining. Through their travels Verity found herself, and is now making a name for herself as one of the best merchants in Triemme. Some even refer to her as the Merchant Queen, though on the seas there are rumors of a Pirate Queen...
Valdis is... stuck up to say the least. His "position" was mainly made up by himself, when in reality he is no more than any other Quirlicorn in the city. For some reason Verity still puts up with him.
Aeravasillissa ("Just Aera Please") was born a noble, but turned renegade when she decided she no longer wanted to take over her father's rule. Instead, she snuck on a boat... that so happened to belong to Verity. Upon discovery, she swore her allegiance to Verity, and has been working with her ever since.
Cadenza works with Verity, assisting with some of the more menial tasks when it comes to the day to days of running a buisiness. Cadenza stays on shore and mans the shop while Verity is travelling (and minds Valdis for her)
Aurem is apprenticing with Verity, learning the trade and trade secrets.
Aelin is the first of Khaalida's Circle of Mystics, as well as the Icy Region liason. She spends a lot of time in Queensbreak, only leaving when it's needed for her to do so. She is a sweet girl, who understands the weight of the power she was gifted.
Loire was next to join the Circle, alongside Arwen. The two have a close relationship, and will often be found traveling together between the Plains, Swamp, and Espeor.
Arwen joined alongside Loire, and dotes on the cranky Swamp Mystic. She is a sweet mare, who never has a bad word to say about anyone. She spends most of her time with Loire going between the Plains, Swamp, and Espeor.
Eteri joined the Circle fourth, and is the Windy Region liasion. She is bright and fun, always laughing or singing. If Eteri is in a bad mood, something really bad must have happened. She spends a lot of time in the Windy Region, but will flit from place to place without a second thought.
Reina was fifth to join the circle, and is the Mountains Mystic. She serves as a liaison for the Mountains region, maintaining the relationships with the other lands in the region. She spends a lot of time in Espeor simply because she rarely has to travel outside of the region.
Oriane was the last to join, and took the most convincing. She is a stubborn mare, with a hotheaded-ness that gets her in trouble often. Khaalida's offer was a bit of an escape from some of the trouble she had worked up. Despite that, she is loyal to a fault, and spends most of her time travelling between the Desert and Espeor.
Auryon is a huntress who mainly sticks to the wilds. She will spend long days away from civilization, normally returning to Haven if she needs to stop anywhere.
Evarinya is a wanderer at heart. She tried living with her half sister Feriae in Haven, but wanderlust took over. To justify her want to wander, she took the role of a mapmaker, and travels the lands of Espeor to chart out their secrets.
Zeph wanders the wilds of Espeor, looking for something to keep her busy. Really, shes a bit of a hassle, especially with a tornado following her. Her mood changes much like the wind, so best approach with caution. She is just as likely to help you fight a dragon as she is to feed you to one.
Aurelion was the consort of Khaalida, until they had a near apolcalyptic falling out. He now wanders the land, hoping to some day make it up to her.
