Eira is the Baroness of Snowhaven, a small icy island in the north. Inspired by Khaalida's journey, Eira set out to create a land of her own, where anyone could find a home. Although the cold of the Icy region isn't for everyone, Eira created a land where it is more about family than rank. Many lost souls have found a home with Eira and her herd.
L093 is an Island in the Icy Region, due north of the Plains. While it is normally quite cold, the Quirlicorns who live there are warm of heart. Everyone is family in Snowhaven, whether you are planning to stay or just passing through.
Known simply as 'The City' to all who live there, it is the main settlement of Snowhaven. One longhouse rests in the center, where a warm fire is always burning and many of the residents gather nightly. Surrounding the longhouse are individual small homes, and the occasional shop. The City rests on the coast, with docks that provide most of their resources. Exports of Snowhaven tend to be of more unique varieties, trading in story or art instead of crops or other goods.
Stone paths encircle the longhouse, each leading to a different home. The City seems to have grown in rings, spreading out from the central longhouse. A more sturdy path leads from the docks to the longhouse, wider and made for carts and product transport. The docks are well made and well weathered, having stood up against the icy oceans long before the residents of Snowhaven came to rest there. Most buildings are built of a mix of layers of wood and stone, insulated against the cold.
To the very north tip of the Island is a small camp for those exploring the island to rest for the night, or a good place to shelter if ever caught out in a storm.
A small set of buildings, each one with a large firepit built into the ground in the center. The Camp has room and supplies to shelter several Quirlicorns for over a week. It is common courtesy to restock the camp the best you can after leaving, for the next travelers who come to stay.
To the very south of Snowhaven rests a large tower, with an open air top for winged Quirlicorns to land. Several smaller towers line the coast as lighthouses and warning of land from the sea.
Tall, and weathered, it is said these towers stood before Eira claimed the land. They provide a visual beacon that land approaches, as well as places in the top for winged Quirlicorns to bed down for the night and rest. The tallest of the towers in the South also has a box for messages to be left or taken.
Eira is Baroness of Snowhaven, and in many ways like a mother to her people. Some might even say she is a bit of a bleeding heart. Eira still has a sense of wonder in the world and adventure, but is quite happy settled down.
Aido is Eira's brother, and the one responsible for most of the actual work in Snowhaven. He is the one who keeps things running, and her regent when she is unavailable.
Varune is a Guard of Snowhaven, not that the land really needs one. He is a determined sort, always ready to prove himself in a game of strength or speed.
Gwynn is a soft and gentle mare. She likes writing poetry and taking long walks along the icy shore, and loves a warm cup of tea at the end of a long day. For a while she followed in Varune's footsteps guarding the island, but got bored and realized she would rather spend her time waxing poetically about the snow and stars.
Lullaby is the other regent of Snowhaven, and helps a lot with the general running of the island. Though her children live elsewhere, Lullaby found her home in Snowhaven and decided to stay.
Xanthe is young and brash, a bit of a hothead. She can be cold to those who don't know her, but is fiercely protective of those she loves. She acts as a scout, keeping an eye on the land.
Ranvir and Quiterie own the biggest (and only) general store in the city. All imports go through them, but they are thankfully fair with their prices. Ranvir is the general manager and the face of the store, while Quiterie handles the finances and shipments.
Quiterie works alongside Ranvir in the biggest (and only) general store in the city. Quiterie handles most of the numbers, as well as shipments and making contacts with various buisinesses to get product.
Cerridwen comes off as a refined lady, of impeccible breeding. She can come off like a snob to most, but has a soft spot for Xanthe. She is a lady who knows what she likes and refuses to lower her standards for anyone.
Leora is the daughter of Eira, and of Avia of Espeor. She is training to take over Eira's position, and as she gets older she has been taking on more responcibility around the Island.
Dren is not the smartest of Quirlicorns, but he has a big heart. He doesn't always remember just how big he is, which can lead to some funny (and embarrassing) situations of getting stuck in places, or hitting his antlers off of beams that are well above head height for others.
Beira is a free soul and an artist. She enjoys painting in any weather, and can be a bit of a head in the clouds kind of gal. She doesn't always have the most sense, but her creative streak runs deep.
Minda is Beira's self assigned keeper. It is no secret to most that she adores the artistic mare, and spends most of her time making sure Beira does basic things like eating or sleeping and not getting stuck in an artistic haze. Minda is also a fantastic baker, and is well known for her pastries (and feeding people).
Kito is a chef, and enjoys cooking. He and Minda don't always get along, constantly debating whether his food or her baked goods reign supreme. The one thing that binds them is their adoration of Beira, and the quest to keep at least one hoof of hers planted on solid ground.
Pluff is the epitome of a big goofy golden retriever in Quirlicorn form. He is a perpetual jokester and goofball, and he doesn't even know the meaning of the word serious.
