As the author of the free solution for optimizing deliveries, I decided to give clarifications regarding the choice of e-mail as the main way (channel, transport) for exchanging messages between the dispatcher and the performers of transport work (drivers, couriers, etc.). The answer is simple: the desire to reduce the total cost of ownership (operating costs).
The solution must be economical in operation. What is easier? - create a mailbox on a public email server (I like, for example, Gmail from Google) and work through it. If you make messaging more technologically - through a web server, then automatically there are costs for its maintenance, including administration, security, etc. If you already have an IT infrastructure and IT staff, then I am ready to customize my IT solution. But if you are a small business and are just starting to automate translogistics, and this is exactly what my development is designed for, then think about whether it is worth immediately taking on the technical "troubles" and the associated costs.
