The Freethinkers of Alcoholics Anonymous Ireland was inspired by similar recovery communities globally who searched for a path in the AA program of recovery but could not practice the spiritual or religious principles outlined in 1939.

The FTAAI is not affiliated with any other group or service organisation in AA.

Our purpose is to stay sober, to share our experiences navigating through a spiritual program as non-believers, to maintain continuous sobriety, and to ensure that the hand of AA is extended to every alcoholic who seeks help, without discrimination.

We hope for this site to remain an organic and autonomous project and we welcome all suggestions, input, and any experience our readers may have to offer.
