Hello I bought a older house with some stone walls and im trying to get excellent wifi throughout the house. Its a 1gig coax internet And the isp gave me two erro wifi pro6e+ for a promotion period of two years.

Another problem that I noticed is the use of the "@" symbol in your WiFi password. For some reason the Pi converts this to a " and thus your wifi log in will not be successful (wrong password). After putting in your SSID and password with something like Raspi-Config, go back and make sure that your @ (ASCII character) is in the correct place and has not been replace by something else. (I used Shift+" on my keyboard to replace the " with a @ but you may have to find a different way or just change your password to something without a @ in it).

Just wanted to drop a tip. Configuring WiFi country is outlined in when talking about editing the txt file in the boot folder, but is kind of glossed over when talking about configuring with keyboard+mouse+monitor. I've never had good luck getting my card reader to work with partitioned SD cards, so I always just plug a monitor in to my Pi's. I have recently aquired an older ethernet enabled HP Laserjet Pro printer. It comes with a USB and ethernet interface and I want to set it up centrally in my house. There is wifi coverage, but no ethernet port within reasonable distance. So what would be the best/cheapest way to go around it?

I used something similar but the end device also did wifi, so I was able to extend my wifi network to the furthest point away. It worked well but my Roku flaked out on a regular basis, probably because of the house's 70 year old wiring.

soooooooooooooooo from what i could tell u have a printer... u want it on wifi. so connect it to wifi? put it on DHCP, and give it a reservation, then add it to your computers via IP. ezpz. Unless im misunderstanding and this printer has no wifi, in which case... this is 2022. throw it out and buy one with wifi. :)

Thank you for all your time and suggestions. I think I will be going with SHNOOL's suggestion as that was what I was hoping for originally but couldn't find myself. And I think its the sleakest solution given what I am looking for.

Worth noting is that it is a second hand printer that I got for 30 USD, which used to retail for 400 so I have some wiggle room, as opposed to just tossing it and going out buying an equivalent laser printer WITH Wi-Fi. And running a straight cable is more of a hassle then trying out the iogear wifi adapter, which will be cheaper compared to the length of cable I would otherwise need to attach it directly to the router.

I can't pickup a laser printer for 100 USD here. For that prince I can get a inkjet printer, and I dislike inkjet printers. My general use is that I don't print daily, but when i do print its a large volume. And a inkjet printer will most likely dry out in my case, and run through too much ink.

Came here just to say this. Simple, easy way to provide wifi -> ethernet. We've used them in several places and run into vendors that use them too. If you have a problem with the admin page, try a different browser. I think last time I used one I had issues accessing it with chrome. ff782bc1db
