Hunters and certain trappers (bobcat, fisher and river otter only) will have several options for registering harvests through the GameReg electronic registration system. Current boat owners can renew their registration online. Registration of new boats, or transfer of boat ownership, is available online. Anyone buying a new boat from a dealer, or from a private individual, must complete the registration online.

Boaters who register their motorized watercraft in Nebraska are required to pay $5 in addition to their three-year boater registration fee. Boaters who register their motorized watercraft in any other state will be required to obtain a $15 Aquatic Invasive Species Stamp each year that they boat in Nebraska. This stamp is available for purchase online. A temporary stamp may be purchased at some state parks and recreation areas.

Effective June 1, 2011, the Maryland General Assembly mandated that the Comptroller's Office assume oversight responsibility of the slot machine program for certain organizations on the Eastern Shore's nine (9) counties. Every person who sells or offers goods for sale through a vending machine in the state of Maryland must obtain a vending machine license from the Clerk of the Circuit Court in the county where the machines are located. The license fee is $2.50 for each vending machine.

A vending machine license is not required if the following items are offered for sale: Cigarettes - Special laws govern the sale of cigarettes through a vending machine. For more information, contact the State License Bureau or the Clerk of the Circuit Court in the county in which the vending machine will be located. An applicant must provide the Clerk of the Circuit Court a $50 fee and a form required by the Comptroller that includes the address of each micro market to be operated by the applicant. Failure to obtain a Micro market license may result in criminal penalties or a fine not to exceed $5,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or both.

All required information must be completed before issuance of the business license can occur. The Control Number will be provided by the Clerk of the Circuit Court when the applicant applies for the business license. The CR Number will be provided to the applicant after registering with the Comptroller's Office. If you register online, you will receive a confirmation number. Unless using the mobile app, hunters should carry their Big Game Harvest Report Card with them while big game hunting for validating and registering a harvest. An authorization number is given during the registration process and is required for a hunter to legally possess their harvest.

Businesses that offer coin-operated amusement machines for their customers must be licensed or registered by the Comptroller's office. Firearms and archery hunter safety and bear trapping education courses are available in three formats; online, homestudy, or traditional. Homestudy includes the completion of the hunter education workbook, or online course, followed by a skills and exam day. An in-person skills and exam session is required for students ages 10-15 who take firearms and archery safety courses online.

The in-person classes are sponsored by school districts, sports clubs, civic groups, and others, and are taught statewide by volunteer instructors certified by MDIFW. Pre-registration is typically required.

A payee of gambling winnings meeting the reporting thresholds for bingo, keno, and slot machines, and a payee of gambling winnings meeting the withholding thresholds from horse racing, dog racing, jai alai, sweepstakes, wagering pools, lotteries, and certain other wagering transactions, but not from a state-conducted lottery, must present two forms of identification, one of which must include the payee's photo. A completed and signed Form W-9 is acceptable as the nonphoto form of identification. Gaming establishments owned or licensed by a tribal government of a federally recognized Indian tribe may waive the photo ID requirement for payees who are members of that tribe and present a tribal member identification card issued by the same tribe. These rules affect boxes 11 and 12 under the instructions for 1. Horse Racing, Dog Racing, Jai Alai, and Other Wagering Transactions Not Discussed Later; 2. Sweepstakes, Wagering Pools, and Lotteries; and 3. Bingo, Keno, and Slot Machines.

A payer may use the optional aggregate reporting method to report more than one payment of reportable gambling winnings from bingo, keno, or slot machines received by a payee in a 24-hour calendar day or "gaming day" on a single information return. You may be required to withhold 24% of gambling winnings (including winnings from bingo, keno, slot machines, and poker tournaments) for federal income tax. This is referred to as backup withholding. You should backup withhold if:

File Form W-2G for every person to whom you pay $1,200 or more in gambling winnings from bingo or slot machines, or $1,500 or more from keno after the price of the wager for the winning keno game is deducted. If the winnings aren't paid in cash, the FMV of the item won is considered the amount of the winnings. Total all winnings from all wagers made during a single bingo or keno game to determine whether the winnings are reportable. Winnings and losses from other wagering transactions aren't to be taken into account in arriving at the $1,200 or $1,500 figure.

Regular gambling withholding doesn't apply to winnings from bingo, keno, or slot machines. However, if the recipient of reportable gambling winnings from bingo, keno, or slot machines doesn't provide a TIN, you must backup withhold. That is, if the winnings are at least $1,200 from bingo or slot machines or $1,500 from keno, backup withholding of 24% applies to the amount of the winnings reduced, at the option of the payer, by the amount wagered.

Hunters have the option to register their deer at a physical registration station or online. Regardless of which registration method hunters choose, harvested deer MUST be registered within 24 hours (see the NH Hunting & Trapping Digest for rules). Beginning in 2023, hunters will NOT be required to register their harvested deer before taking another.

To facilitate the collection of biological data on deer, the online registration system will be unavailable for the first two days of muzzleloader season and the first three days of firearms season. Hunters will be required to register their deer in-person at a registration station during this time.

Outside of the days listed above, hunters may opt to register their deer online and will be asked to provide all the same information online as they would if registering at a physical location. The deer tag must be securely affixed to the deer. Online registration is intended for deer harvest with firearms or any type of bow and arrow.Leg seals will no longer be issued starting in 2023.

NOTE: Upon submission of the registration, a confirmation number will be issued. You must print or save this information electronically as proof of completion of your online registration.

NHFG continues to work with registration stations throughout the state to provide local resources for hunters to register their deer. Some stations use an online registration platform while others continue to complete paper registrations. Beginning in 2023, leg seals will no longer be issued for deer. All stations will supply hunters with a Deer Confirmation Card that contains a unique Deer Confirmation Number in lieu of a seal.

Prior to entering a registration station, you should have your hunting license in hand, know the license plate number of the vehicle used while hunting, as well as the town and WMU that the deer was harvested in order to expedite the registration process. Some registration stations may have limited hours; hunters should call ahead to find out if their local registration station will be open.
