I always use my iPhone in silent mode and do not want any notification sounds except for calls. I would prefer that calls (from anyone) always rings, no matter if I am in Do Not Disturb mode or not. Since people only call me for very important things. Currently, I could set it up such that call notifications are displayed in the Do Not Disturb mode, but I cannot get the phone to actually ring so mostly I will just miss the call and notice it later as I don't check my phone often. Updated the phone to iOS 16.

This article from Apple's iPhone User Guide for iOS 16 regarding the "silent mode" activated by the physical switch on the left side, clearly states that silent mode is just silent (and full stop):

Free Ringtones Just Download

Hi there we have Ring Central Phones installed and have just had Kuando Busylights attached. Is there anyway that we can hear the ringtones that we have downloaded into the Ring Central Phone App play through the Kuando or are we stuck with the limited choice on the busylight?

No matter what adjustments to standard apps or sound devices settings i make, not ring-tone. It used to work but stopped all of a sudden some month ago. I have no indication whatsoever what could have cause this behavior.

2) Another big (but unrelated) miss that they just won't let us have a SMALL window for team, like old IM apps used to do. Just show a list of names of recent chats, an icon to show if there are messages pending (or a call missed), and the text of the selected chat. It would be so simple to implement such a compact interface, but nope, although they've promised it... years have passed and nothing.

This was the solution for me too - the "secondary ringer" option is there and should be for everyone. I'd just add that the settings referred to in this answer are those within MS teams desktop application itself as opposed to your PC/laptop's settings and you have to scroll down a little to find the secondary ringer option,

I just encountered the same issue.

Teams is working just fine, except for no ringtone in my speakers when receiving calls or any dial tone when calling someone. just silence and then all of the sudden they answer.

I've just purchased and set up my new Galaxy S9. Seems to have mostly gone smoothly however found I'm unable to configure my ringtone or notification sound. In settings they are set to over the horizon and skyline respectively. However when I select either menu option, no system sounds appear, just 3 audio files, 2 of which I think came from using smart switch. When I try to select one of these files, I get an error "unable to set as ringtone". Anybody any ideas??

I found a ghetto work-around for group ringtones on the iPhone. It's sort of annoying but once you get it set up, its easy to then change a group ringtone. You have to set the ringtone for each one of your contacts, but only ONCE, and then changing the ringtone for a group is easy. You won't want to do this unless you enjoy changing your ringtones every so often.

1. Create a custom ringtone for each group you want to set, and give it a default name that you recognize (ie "AA_Family" "AA_Friends" "AA_Work" etc). I put the "AA_" in front so it shows at the top of my ringtones list on the iPhone.

3. Now the annoying part...you have to go into each contact and set the ringtone for each one according to the group they belong to. I know, this sucks. But I have about 150 contacts, and I did it, and it didn't seem to take me THAT long. You get into a rhythm and just knock it out. (First try just setting it for a few contacts, maybe 10 that are in the same group, because if you don't follow these instruction correctly you will have to do it all over again.)

4. Now, if you ever want to change a group's ringtone, just create a new custom ringtone, and rename the file the same as the default name (ie "AA_Family") and replace the file in your library. Then, when you sync, it will just update the ringtone for everyone in that group.

For example, let's say you have a custom ringtone for the song "Thriller" (named Thriller.m4r) and you want to set that for your "AA_Family" group ringtone. You do the file rename/replace and stuff in your iTunes library, but make sure that Thriller.m4r is NOT in your iTunes library when you sync. If it is, it will mess up the group ringtone stuff you just did and set the ringtone of everyone in that group to "Thriller" instead of "AA_Family".

So, I just changed my family group ringtone to Thriller, and now I want to change it to Jingle Bells. I do the same rename/replace procedure, and I make sure that JingleBells.m4r is not in my iTunes library. Thriller.m4r isn't in my library either because I removed it before. Just make sure that you don't add it back in on this sync either because it will mess up the group ringtone stuff. But I want Thriller as a ringtone still on my iPhone, just not as a group ringtone, so what do I do? Well, just do one sync to update the group ringtone (without Thriller in the library), and check it to make sure it worked. Then add Thriller.m4r to your iTunes library, and sync again. Now you have Jingle Bells as a group ringtone, and Thriller.m4r as a single ringtone.

The iPhone knows that song you are playing regardless of the filename of your ringtone. As long as you don't have conflicts, you'll be alright. Hopefully this isn't too confusing. I tried to be clear without typing out a novel. Again, this is really only helpful if you enjoy changing out your group ringtones often like I do.

Thank you for your reply. I am but this is not occurring during meetings. I have it set not to ring while in meetings. It's outside of meetings that's the problem. Also, in my company we don't have desk phones, just Zoom.

Are you running the Zoom desktop client? In the top navigation bar do you see an icon for Zoom Phone similar to below, and under the dial pad do you have any options to set your caller ID? (NOTE: IF you do please just confirm or deny: please do NOT post a photo here without removing any personally identifiable information such as phon numbers, names, etc)

I got a request from a fellow producer via No Agenda Nation to convert some of the various No Agenda jingles and Soundboard items into iPhoneringtones. Rather than just do the couple she asked me to do, I decided todo a few more. It kept growing and growing until, well, here is the page.

All of the ringtones, jingles, clips, whatever you want to call them areavailable in both m4r format (for iPhones) and mp3 (for everything else) and,in the case of longer clips, are cut down to under 30 seconds so they willwork as ringtones. Right-click on the link, Save As, and copy the file intoyour media library.

I always keep my phone in vibration mode (no ringer, no notification sounds, just the vibration), since I'm a forgetful person and I'd end up forgetting to turn the ringer off when I'm in a meeting or other occasions when it wouldn't be appropriate.

To do this, open Tasker and create a new task. Name it whatever you like. Then add an action and navigate to Audio -> Ringer Volume. Drag the slider to 7 (this is the maximum volume and you can adjust this if you want). Do the same for Audio -> Notifcation Volume under the same task.

Rather than rebooting my computer, I just right-click Teams on my taskbar and select Quit. This stops the ringing. Then I just re-open Teams and I am good to go. Not sure why the constant ringing after hang-up randomly happens.

If i play default or system ringtones, they play in loop or repeatedly. But if i choose any other sound from my gallery or media store , it only plays it once. I have gone through some links but i dnt want to use MediaPlayer. I just need to use RingtoneManger.

20. january 2024. I bought the watch 10 days ago. I have the same problem. I have checked all the settings several times. The sound works for messages and apps, but it doesn't work when someone calls the cell phone, then the watch just vibrates without sound. I think this is a serious failure by Garmin. I am thinking whether to return the watch or contact the service. Or should I wait for an upgrade? What do you think?

This is the most common reason for phones not to ring and the easiest to fix. You may have just accidentally put the phone on silent without realizing it. If you can still hear other media, like videos or music, this is likely the issue.

Do Not Disturb is a phone feature you turn on expressly when you don't want it to ring. While you can set it on a timer, you can also toggle it on and leave it on until you're ready to turn it off manually. Naturally, this feature is another common culprit of user-related issues with phone ringtones.

If you downloaded a third-party or purchased a ringtone to use on your phone and it isn't working, it could be a software glitch causing the sound to fail when someone calls you. Try switching to one of the phone's pre-set ringtones, and see if that solves your problem. Here's how you can access your default ringtones list.

This may sound like the stupidest question but when you select a ring tone in the edit contact area are you then pressing the tick in the top right hand corner to save the selection and not just pressing back or home?

I have zenfone 8 and liked the Windows Lumia 640 phone several (already) years ago and wanted to get the notification sounds and ringtones on my Zenfone (now) and haven't been too successful thus far. However, there was one i found from that phone and i used it on the main ringer via Sim and the thing is or was, (my phone got stolen actually, i have just now purchased a 2nd phone). Ok but i noticed having that installed successfully as main ringer tone, it was a lot quieter or low volume. Then a guy was trying to sell software to enhance the 3rd party add-ons as he put it, that programs like Zedge, yes, they have what i want but that it would end up being in the same capacity--installed and then the sound would dim down. His software would work greatly as it (i tested it to that end and sure it seemed great but the cost was seemingly a little much for a couple ringtones). Even while at the same time getting free tones from Zedge. 0852c4b9a8
